Poor DVD quality...
« on: July 11, 2007, 06:35:35 PM »
I'm noticing that no one else seems to be having trouble with their UY DVDs. Some of the episodes I have on DVD are extremely dark even though the brightness on my computer is turned up to the max. I think my Volume 20 DVD's quality has actually declined. Note the difference between these two shots from "Darling's Dying?".

The first one was taken today. The second one was taken several months ago. Notice how the first one seems to be darker?

There is a big difference between the two pics. That has happened to me a few times. I hate it when it happens. The second is much better.

That is something that tends to happen normally with DVDs,dont worry, that is a normal thing if ya remember UY is a very old anime, this dark and bright thing also happens in my Saint Seiya dvds

The first pic's still okay, right? I was hoping it wasn't too poor quality. I probably should've taken it earlier.

Maybe it is because Lum is near a window with a sunny day in picture 2 ?

The rest of the episode's quality has declined. The quality of "The Firefightin' Mama Arrives!" has also declined; it's so dark that Lum's hair is almost black instead of green. So far the episode with the poorest quality in my collection is the episode in which Kurama tries to marry Ryuunosuke. In one scene, it appears as though Kurama's "headwings" are completely black.

Is the image quality of an ordinary DVD player different from that of a computer?

Yeah,necron99,for example in computer dvd players and screen one has 2 endure a problem called "dark blockiness" where if the image isnt dark then it will contain a lot of little squares (probably this last one hasnt happened since those are High quality dvds),i suggest u try a normal dvd player, that helped me with me dvds

I have a normal DVD player. I can only take screencaps on my computer though.

I found this in the gallery. It's the same shot as the one I provided. Is it just that my DVD's image quality is poor?

Probably it is a pic from the AVI files, but well, here is another reason, dvds have a life degree,if ya keep playing them in a repetitive cycle, the quality will be without control

anyways, that is what an electronics magazine mentioned

I haven't watched that DVD on a regular basis. I only watched it three times.
