Are there a lot of homophobic people there or are people more relaxed about it? Would being one of these hold you back?

I don't know about Japan but in the Philippines where my wife is from you see guys dressed up as girls in the malls and all over the place. Most people ignore them or don't care. Taxi drivers will make fun of them sometimes.
There is no "Gay Agenda" in the Philippines so the people there don't really care.
If they wanted to get married or adopt kids you'd see the attitudes change very quickly towards them.
The Philippines is 90% Catholic but it's not an issue. Once they bring in the "Gay Agenda" you'll see the hatred appear where there wasn't any before.

Thailand has a lot of ladyboys and when I went for a visit there, there was a lot of them. There are probably a lot more now. No one cares about it. I have friends who live in Thailand and none of them care about it at all. But if they want it to become political and bring in the "Gay Agenda" things could get very ugly there really quick.
Ever see a riot in Thailand on the news? People die in riots over there. Thai's are easily insulted.
Fastest way to get into a bloody fight is to show a Thai the bottom of your shoe. That's a big insult there.
Want to go to Jail very quickly? Insult theiir king in any way, no matter how minor.

Swizzle is over in Japan maybe he knows what they think about that over there?

People are actually more relaxed about it here. You'll see famous transsexuals on TV and stuff like that and Japanese people don't really care if people are gay or lesbian for the most part from what I've seen as long as it isn't hindering anybody else. I was talking to a couple Japanese friends about transsexuals at one point and they said they thought they cute and had no problem with it at all and I was also with a guy from the US who was saying he thinks it's really gross. So Japan is actually pretty ok with that stuff from what I've seen.
