The past few days I have added small updates to the forum:

* New board icons replaced the standard SMF board icons
* Users who didn't select any avatar will have a default avatar now
* Guest who are posting have a guest avatar now (function not available at this moment)
* De-activated the compressed output of the forum for testing the performance of the forum/server
* Cleaned up the code on several pages/code snippets for faster code execution
* Added avatar just before the name of the topic starter in topic overview
* Added Users Active in Last 24 Hours and tweaked some settings of this modification
* Updated the way you see your PM's when entering your inbox
* Added Page number on top of forum and on browser windows when viewing multiple page topics
* Added protection of email address of users. No more email-address harvesting when browsing the boards
* Updated the way guests view the links in posts on the boards. Registration is needed to follow those links
* Added new modification to keep the signature images nice and neat (auto resize)

Now we just need to do something about the inactive members...
This is our members at the moment:

• 388 Registered (286 with 0 posts)
• 11 Chibi
• 5 Casual Fan (including Parias)
• 6 Fan
• 9 Big Fan (including Pac)
• 4 Psychotic Fan (including Lum-Chan)
• 3 Casual Otaku

I say we need to do something about those registereds and chibis (the inactive ones).

As I saw in the forumlogs on the server most of the Registered and the Chibi are lurkers.
I'm not sure right now what to do with these users. They don't clog up any resources but make the board look busier then it really is.

I'm thinking about a mass-email to all these users if they are still valid. Bouncers will be deleted right away and the Non-Bouncers will get a fair amount of time to respond or they will be deleted as well.

The only serious concerns I have is about Pac and Parias. I'll try to contact them before I'll clean up the user database.
I might need 2 new Moderators if they don't respond anymore and I'll get into that too.

Hey... don't forget for example... SandStorm or even Ataru the 2nd, they were inactive for a long time but now they're posting again.
Probably removing the ones inactive for more than 1 year???

yeah,there are some that couldnt post anymore but would do when da chance arrives

however,it is true that many chibis and registereds just "enter da restaurant 2 use da bathroom",we need 2 do something about this as kroptik once said there just a few people that r reviving several topics

perhaps sending warning emails 2 those who r just lurking?

Send everyone an e-mail and give them 2 weeks to respond or return. If they don't do it just delete the accounts.

And to stop the creation of those lurkers how about some bonuses for high-level members? Like exclusive small areas or something. That would encourage people to participate a bit more.
