Yes you're right, Hellsing is great!! And i've only seen the first episode too, but it looks great! Last Exile seems very interesting, but we can't say nothing yet...
Yes they are both products of Gonzo, that explains the great series that they are...
I don't know much of anime productions, but i've seen some animes of Gonzo and they were all cool...
Hope the other are cool too...

Well i must say that i am new to anime, because, i only started whatching anime in 1997 whit Lupin III and since im in a very small island and our cable network is different from the mainland we dont get the chance to see many anime series arround :N
When i went for summer vacations in my uncles house in Portugal they had something like satelite/cable thing and i was suprised to see an 24/7 Anime channel caled Locomotion i must say that i spent almost every morning and nigth watching that channel and im sad i cant get it in my small but beutifull island  }:|

Well, if you liked Najica for his fan-services...
Aika is more, a lot more ahead of it!!!   :D)

About tv aired anime, only recently they have been aired in a good number on 1 or 2 secondary Italian channels...and I mean recent animes like Evangelion, Escaflowne, Golden Boy and similar...
The only other choice are anime dedicated/adapted for kids on national channels and you can imagine how they treated Dragonball Z or Ranma 1/2 to suit it to kids... xP

Ah, I miss the situation we had in the '80ies, when anime were massively aired on all the channels, letting us see a lot of great productions before the parents and censors attack... :&

Today, if we want to see some good anime without cuts and bad treatments we have to buy it, and they have really high prices!  ;(

well.
they are all great but the problem is that i have all these series in dvd.
and i mut tell that last exile is great but nothing compared to the air pirats of vash in skies of arcadia,or the colossus ship of ruby heart.
you can see ruby heart in a game caled marvel vs capcom 2

Hey Falling Star that locomotion channel was really something, i used to see it in my friend's house, because i didn't had tv cabo by satelite, and to watch that channel you must have satelite, but now that channel doesn't exist... the reponsables by tvcabo said that it didn't had the audiences that they expected... Looks like there isn't suficient anime fans here in Portugal...

Its not a question of numbers (well it is), but, i think the channel was fully japanese whit english subs so there wasnt many ppl that could read the subs and watch the anime, and kids today they like things like Power Rangers, Kim Possible, Lilo & Stich and several other things that are aired in Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, etc......Zing

Yes, as far as i remember the channel was japanese with english subtitles...
Kids might like anime too, but its pokemon, digimon, yugi-oh, and stuff like that...
I just think that's stupid...

I said yugi because i was runnig out of ex's... When yugi was aired at 07:30 every day of the week i used to see it... but now its only at weekend...
I was trying to say: Beyblade (don't know if you like it, but i think this sucks) and duel monters or something like that.
