Was the UY Laserdisc Boxset the first worldwide Boxset?

I read on the german website http://www.duensser.com/lastxti1_de.htm , that the Urusei Yatsura Laserdisc Boxset was the first Laserdisc Boxset of the world, is that true?

Released March 1987 and the original price was 330.000 Yen!!! (about $4280)

I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Although I think VHS sort of pushed laserdisc out of the way. I'm sort of disappointed that UY has no complete series boxset at all in DVD or otherwise.
