Miku miku Dance + kinect
« on: January 03, 2011, 07:32:11 AM »
let me do a brief explanation to this for those of you that don't know.

The Xbox 360 has a new peripheral called Kinect, which is a camera used in games for full body motion capture. Miku miku dance is a computer software that is used for making hatsune miku 3d CG videos. Now that using program with kinect, people no longer need special equipment to do a motion capture. Interestingly enough the kinect camera was only intended to be used for the Xbox 360 games, but now people had made the camera work on computers and opened a door for the possibilities it may be used for.

here is one of the PVs made using the kinect

I'll leave it up to you who does the motion capture.

I find this development -- using Kinect to bring Motion Capture to the amateur and hobbyist animator -- incredibly exciting. Thanks for the post, Janus!
