Topic: Major Update on forum in progress!

Within a few days the site will go down for a few hours up to a few days due to severe problems which needs to be fixed. This means a complete update on all software which is currently used at the site. At the same time all obsolete code will be removed to speed up some things. Some old and unsupported mods will be removed and probably replaced with new working mods.

Don't worry! No posts or users will be deleted as I make full backups tomorrow and just before a down the site I'll make them again.

This thread will also be used to receive bug-reports/suggestions/fixes on the site to be done after upping the forum once again.

I'll keep you guys/galls posted on this!

like the offtopic code doesn't go well with the list code in between and how I couldn't post My Anime list link using the url code

@janus: Added it to the list of new additions. I'm currently checking some mods which include more formats/sites which provide embedded video's and such. If it's not supported I'll add it as a extra option.

Running the first backup now and I'm collecting the needed mods at this moment. May take some time

Maybe you could fix the smilies while you're at it? Some smilies use the same code (like : ( being for the sad one and the angry one). Fixed

Just before putting the site down, I'll make an extra backup of the SQL Database just in case

There are 2 smileys really alike that represent the same thing: smiley with sunglasses on.  Code is 8 ) Fixed

The situation above repeated itself with the code : P Fixed

 Maybe you could change the code of  ???   because if you're writting something and you want more than 2 "?" , it will appear that smiley instead of 3 "?". Code is ? ? ? Fixed


 There are 2 different smileys with the same code: one is the "shocking" smiley that basically it's a smiley with his eyes popping out, like surprised. The other one seems embarassingly surprised xD   Code: : o Fixed

As far as I can see it will be a long one  }:| Need to do much in advance before I can actually update all the stuff on the site itself... Seems like a lot of work to me  :Y

I couldn't update my signature with different links nor revert back as I had it before. so I just gave up and left it blank

Due to a very busy schedule I'm forced to postpone the update to the website for a few weeks. As soon as there's some more free time left, I'll re-start the updating again.

Currently, I'm updating the forum-software. Some options aren't available yet of will be replaced/removed.

No fancy things at this moment. Due to many additions in the past, it makes a lot of trouble to update the software. This is why I first remove all the options, update the software and re-add the options again. After that and everything works OK, I'll add requests if possible.

Please bear with me as I'm working on this right at this moment.
