Lum "sightings" in America?
« on: January 13, 2009, 01:59:46 AM »
Since Urusei Yatsura has never been as popular in the United States as other anime - including Takahashi's own Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha - it's always kind of cool to see little nods to UY and/or Lum pop up in the U.S. from time to time.  Matthew Sweet's music video comes to mind.  Has anyone come across any other "Lum sightings"?

Found this on the website of a high-school run radio station in Kalamazoo, Michigan - it's just a GIF of a dancing Lum (with no explanation of who/what she is), but it was still a surprise to find it.

Also, there is a small town also in Michigan, in Lapeer County (the so-called "Thumb" area) called Lum.  Obviously this has nothing to do with UY, but I still think it's kind of cool.

There's a place in Lisbon called Lumiar and everywhere someone says Lumiar or I see something with Lumiar written on it I just think of Lum. xD
