After watching Yuusha Raideen (old school giant robot anime), I'm starting to think that Rei may have been designed after the stereotypical handsome anime hero. He looks a little bit like Akira from Yuusha Raideen.

 ;) I really liked Rei because of his good looking. I was quit sad to see that he has no cleverness at all ...  :'(

However in the last movie, We can see him at the end and He is really cute !
