Hi people! As we reach the end of 2011 rather quick nowadays, I'd like to thank you all for being faithful visitors to 'The World of Urusei Yatsura's Lum'. I was planning for some new goodies for upcoming week but due to a unsuspected HD crash on my development machine, I'm afraid I have to postpone this update to the end of January 2012. I'm very sorry for this but don't be afraid: nothing has been lost on the new goodies (they were on the local network) but first, I have to fix my machine to get things going.

In the meantime I'd like to which you a very happy Christmas, Quanza, Veliz Navidad or whatever you may call these holidays.

Today, I extended the hosting for another 6 months at my Hosting-provider. Due to the change of contract I've to extend it each 6 months to heep 'The World of Urusei yatsura's Lum' online. It's not a big deal. I'll receive every 5th month a reminder to pay for the next lease of 6 months.

I'm currently checking for a faster package within the same company which will give the site an enourmerous speed boost and extra webspace to extend the website a bit (read: a lot) more.

We'll see what will happen in the next 6 months. In the meantime: Enjoy!

Some sad news has been received: Cata has left the forums and has requested to drop the moderator-rights for her account. Too bad, because she's a good and honest moderator. I have no new plans (yet) to look for a new moderator.

Of course I hope she will visit us from time to time but it's sad to see someone leaving who has done so much good to the boards...

As we all know, AnimEigo lost it's NA license for Urusei Yatsura * Lum. Due to this, the complete UY gallery has been removed from their site too. Thanks to AtaruLumFan I got my hand on this complete gallery which contains 532 images. Some are quite old and some are rather 'newish'. I decided to create a new gallery and uploaded the complete AnimEigo UY Gallery here. These precious pictures will never be lost in the digital trashbin \(^_^)/. The new gallery can be found here. Upgraded to the latest version of both the Forum-software and the Portal Software. Some thingies are missing. Currently, I'm in the process of fixing these. Expect new changes in the upcoming days...

Updated the portal-software to TinyPortal 1.0 RC1.1. This is a security update and fixes some minor issues.

Added an extra link to the download of The Complete Music Box. Now you can download/stream any MP3 listed to your default mediaplayer.

Fixed disc 15 of The Complete Music Box. Missing links fixed.
Synchronized all file descriptions of The Complete Music Box in the Download Manager and the pages on the website itself. Took some time, but this has finally been fixed.

Finally, after fiddling so long with some php-code I managed to get the auto-scroller working for the Recent Topics block. It looks like it working like a charm!

Secondly: The missing Calendar is back again and is linking to the Calendar with entries itself.

The current changelog as from today:

• SMF software updated to version 1.1.11
• TinyPortal software updated to version 1.0 beta 5-1
• Removed many old modifications. No performance increase, tho
• Fixed Shoutbox. Scrolling disabled and working for both Internet Explorer and Firefox
• Fixed Recent Topics auto-scrolling - IE shows a bit small block, working on this. Firefox is OK
• Nico Nico Douga embedded videos added. Use the 'Nico Nico Douga' icon while you post
• Removed all video-tags except the 'Nico Nico Douga' tag
• Enlarged embedded images up to 800x600 pixels (640x480 was a bit small imho)
• Spoiler-tag updated to latest version
• Updated the board-rules for posting video's due to changed way of posting/adding movies
• Just spent almost 4,5 hours to update almost any post which contained old you-tube tags. Phew!
• Changed settings on the core-software to speed up the board a bit
• Optimized/fixed the Smiley's with thanks to Cata
• Removed all obsolete code
• SMF Gallery software updated to version 1.0.3. Needs an update to pro version for more options for you
• Added Time Zones. In Profile -> Look and Layout Preferences, pick your country and off you go
• Re-configured SMF Gallery so it supports images up to 2050x1540 pixels.
• Changed the way SMF Gallery displays the actual image when clicking on any thumbnail with browsing options
• Fixed code from the Forum Statistics. It screwed the lay-out of the left menu bar

• Finally! Speeding up of the whole website. No longer have to wait for approx. 17 seconds or more for new pages
• Updated all available pages to reflect the new software changes (phew!)
