Last night I was looking at the episode 19 ("Merry Christmas") and I noticed one thing: the (fake) love letter that Megane use to trap Ataru is written in ROMAJI and not with ideograms, even if (and of course) with Japanese words.

Is this the only case in the whole saga or did I miss something?

More, even in the '80s was so prevalent in Japan on how to write romaji?

I thought it was an "innovation" recently, due to the fact that, in this way, they can take advantage of Western computer keyboards and cell phones (especially to send SMS)
