« on: November 17, 2010, 08:14:05 PM »
I want to get an American region 1 DVD and copy it, setting the region to 0 as I live in the UK. How can I do this on Windows 7?

You need DVD Decrypter to do this.

It's easy. After you start this, select Mode -> ISO -> Read. Select your Drive and then select a folder to save the iso file. After you burn this in a iso file, you can open this with the normal Windows 7 ISO Burner.

I used to use a program some years ago called DVD shrink. this program depends on another program called Nero but basically what it does is that it makes a copy of the whole DVD by folders not ISO, so it may take up 4Gb your Hard drive per DVD, but it includes the DVD menu and you can play the files once they are in your hard Drive. and the neat thing about it is that its simple to use, you can remove any Audio tracks you don't like and obviously burn what you ripped on to a DVD in whatever region you like with region 0 as default.
