Great company, they made Dragon Quest VIII and Dark Chronicle, two of my favourite games.

Still I can't think of a good gamestyle for a UY game besides a Sim-Date. :S

I think Ataru's abilities shown during his girl hunting sessions would be enough for a scrolling beat'em-up (Double Dragon style); you must hit or avoid enemies (various Tomobiki's people) and catch the girls as bonus, and at the end of each level you must fight with a boss (Megane, Mendo, Ten...) or grab a girl (Shinobu, Sakura, Benten...)! The last level could be based on the Last movie, ending with the tag battle with Lum!

It's just a simple idea I just had, I guess it's possible to do much better than that, but it's still an interesting idea... ^^

That would be an interesting Bonus Level, with Ataru that must eat all the food served, but if he eats Lum's cooking the bonus is over!

Not the whole game, but it could be a great level, maybe one of the hardest!
Ten, Ryoko and Cherry wouldn't be bosses but a kind of bonus or special weapons, the real boss would be Mendo on his Leopard with all the Mendou's army!

Some weeks ago I played the Simpsons game on Xbox360 and I must say it was really well done!
A 3d platform with various side quests, time attacks and several chapters united by a great common level: Springfield itself!

The various levels were slightly different one from another and sometimes they were adapted to a different gameplay, like the JOUST level!

A similar concept could be used for UY, IMHO, with Tomobikichou as common level and various anime episodes (or movies) as chapters...

Those are good ideas guys but I think that we are never going to play that game if someone release it.
We can't hope for a console game or those complex game (I don't even own a console, i'm a proud PC gamer lol) and even if it is released (UY is still famous in japan, they did "endless summer" not so much time ago) it is gonna be in jappanise.... DAMN them! do they just don't like me or my money? (lol) I just don't understand why rumiko doesn't want the game to be translated and sold in europe or the states....
anyway, we should looking for a good dating sim for the pc.
I know that the dating sim could be very repetitive, but because they don't have very good background stories while UY have.

Hmm there are 2 possibilities:
1) like endless summer you are ataru and you have to go girl hunting until you "choose" a girl at the end of the game. Maybe the game could start when Lum hasn't yet come to earth, and your only opportunity is Shinobu (with casual girl hunting too). But then Lum comes to earth and everything starts. You already have very high relationship points with shinobu, but with Lum attitude you keep loosing 'em. As the relationship with one of those two rises, more girls become aviable (benten, ran, Oyuki...), but be warned... if you manage to date with one of them, the other girls (specialy the ones with more relation points) are going to be furious and they'll try to ruin the date (minigames like trying to dodge Lums' lightings or more complex minigames).
2) you create your own character. You have just moved with your family at Tomobiki and you start to meet the strange inhabitats of that city.
Dating is a bit hard, the people have their "routine" and it's hard to change it (you are a newcomer, usually people don't trust you so much), but if you do the right things you might be able to become part of the UY world ^^

Let's kidnap one of them and force him to translate the game, so that we can post translated walkthrough of the game (so that the people understand what the character of the game are saying) lol
