Hi there, My name is Katatonia and I am new to this forum. Well a long time has passed in Urusei Yatsura's legacy as a series. As a kid I loved this series. I thought it was a lot of fun. And of course, Who doesn't love Lum? Though as much as I love this series. I want to put 1 definitive translation of the entire series out there. So everyone can enjoy the series as much as I have. I am going to literally translate the entire manga series complete. Anyone is welcomed to help. As I want to do this for the fans and with the fans.

Your idea of translating all of Urusei Yatsura looks kinda ambitious but we will see eventually what you got in store for us

Merely re-posting the old ILM scanlations would be good ....

But completely re-translating the manga would be ... exhausting! Woof! 34 volumes. Lotta work there, Katatonia. I wish you luck with this monumental task and look forward to the results of your labors. Cheers!

Welcome Katatonia.

Yes, Project ILM has completed the translation of Urusei Yatsura and there are most copies still exists on the internet.

There are still some untranslated things of Urusei Yatsura, example the 10th Anniversary Show and the Making of Urusei Yatsura 4: Lum the Forever.

Hi all, Well, I never mentioned this in my first post. And I'm sorry. All I'm doing is translating the series complete. I don't have a group to scan this to be honest. On my first post I said anyone can help out in this massive project. Though I want to form a release group for Urusei's manga side. This includes Doujin's and all that. I have many ideas. But first I need a release group to bring this project to fruition. So if anyone has any wicked manga skills (Cleaning, Typesetting, Proofreading, Translation Check, Etc). PM me and let me know what's up. And we can make this happen xD

That'll be a better idea, none of those doujins(especially the none hentai ones) are translated.

Yeah, I know. Urusei Yatsura has been translated already. But the first 8 or 9 Volumes were done by Viz. Literally they scanned the Viz volumes and put them on the Bunko-Ban covers. Yeah... Anyways, Theoretically Viz did the story 85% theirs and 15% Rumikos. That's one reason that I wanted to re-translate the series. They turned the Japanese puns into lame Americanized jokes. And the context was entirely changed. Only a few similarities exist between the two. Another thing is era of scanlations. I skimmed through the entire series. Half of the scans were so tiny I couldn't even read them. Most of the bubbles were left untranslated, Etc. It's a culmination of a lot of things.

Hi there, It's been a few days since my last post. And so, I want to know if anyone is interested in helping with this translation project. Since I haven't heard back from anyone. Though, As much as people want the Doujin series. And have emailed me about doing them. I'm only interested in translating the main series. That's the main reason I came on board. So I can give you the most accurate translation of the series. That's all. Though, If anyone is interested in helping with this project, PM me.

It appears that as I have discussed with you on Chatango, Katatonia, most of us Lumaholics are happy with the scanlations that were already done and, even though we value your noble intentions, most of us are more interested on stories that we never read before

I understand you trying to provide some better translations but the problem here be that, with given time, there will other translator who would try to correct yours and create a vicious cycle

Anyhow, you can surely count on us to provide you some Doujinshis, Katatonia, and I think it would be fair for everybody to know why exactly you are not happy with VIZ and ILM besides the obvious physical aspects

There's no winning with you is there xD If they can get me links to the volumes I'll check them out. Are they full Doujin's like actual books or like a few pages? If so can you get me Doujin Volumes? That would be cool. I'd rather prefer to do it like that. If you can provide me with them I'll put in some work =P

Well it'll be nice if there are some fresh versions of the manga out there. The batch I have has some pretty crappy scans though. Really small resolution.

If someone can give me the actual Doujin volumes. I would much prefer that. Than to translate online content that is barely viewable. So, Raikuni, Send me your Doujin's in a PM. And I'll go through them and such xD

Well, i really dislike some VIZ translation (i have the viz manga also), so your translation is really better. But you see, most of Lumaholic Fans want unseen materials ^^
