Lum in real life?
« on: August 17, 2011, 03:26:27 AM »
When I think about it, I'm not sure if I know anyone who's got her personality. But does this apply to any of you?

I don't think anyone in real life could be as diligent as her on staying with Moroboshi. Although I can say that her quick temper is realistic enough.

I think Lum keeps chasing Ataru because she really believes he'll love her back (and soon both of them find out they love eachother). I know people who chase their crushes who don't resemble Ataru much.

Well I guess she knows deep down Ataru can't live long without her so she has to stay with him.

My wife has a similar personality with a lot less electrical zaps.
She's a lot more tolerant than Lum would be and looks a bit like her.
Here is a pic of her from a couple of years ago playing Mini-Golf in Maine.
Her hair is much shorter now.

In a way kind of.  ;D
Lum is an archetype as is Ataru and most of the UY characters.
Thankfully my wife (the one above) isn't jealous of Lum like my first wife was.  :???

Jealousy of 2D characters is understandable only if it gets more atention than the actual lover.

My first wife was not understandable. She was never jealous of any women except Japanese and Anime ones and I didn't know any Japanese women.  :???
She had no trouble commenting on how good looking guys in commercials and on TV were tho.
I didn't have time to watch tons of anime at that time. It was hard to get, fan subbed and you had to pay for the VHS tape. No Internet back then, but we did have BBS's and Fidonet on some BBS's.

Yeah, my first wife did which is weird considering.....
I also had a few posters of Lum in my home office as well but they weren't ecchi.

If you go to Sankaku Complex website you'll find tons of "news" about women jealous of 2D characters.

When I first saw the picture of Redacted's spouse, the way my computer shows these pages had the right-half of the photo cut off (and I did not notice the scroll bar beneath). Thus, all I saw was ...
Spoiler (hover to show)

... and seeing the only female in the frame was the one in the center of the trio, I wondered,
Spoiler (hover to show)

Thankfully, my hand was guided to click on the picture, bringing it up to full-size.

It's old getting hell.... XD

Uh yeah that picture of that 60+ year old woman would have thrown anyone.  ;D
All the pics I take are so they display on my 54" HDTV without bars. I could crop the pics and
sometimes I do but I have so many that it's not worth it.

Yeah I needed to scroll the picture too. I almost thought REDACTED'S wife was that older woman.
