What I've always found brilliant about UY is the fact that the stormtroopers are really no different from the average Lum fan. It is this parabola that made movie 5 possible: Most UY fan's lives depend almost religiously on UY and Lum. Not having a life can be scary; when you find something you do like, your obsession is tripled. Lum herself holds an incredible influence over the mental processes of the stromtroopers, just like the fans. Because we are them! WE ARE THE STORMTROOPERS! There are moments in the movies and shows were I almost feel part of the story because I relate so much to Megane or Perm or Kakugari or Chibi... This is the diary of a Lum-obsessed stormtrooper... it may not be different from your own.

Just remember, "getting there is half the fun", I guess thats why the Stormtroopers still go for her. Oyuki or Benten would be a great catch, it'd be fun to persue them, but Kurama seems really mean. She has a kind of "My way or the highway" attitude. Chibi gets picked on because he's the runt, as his name implies.

You never know, maybe someday Ataru could die in a freak accident. Not impossible, considering his luck. The stormtroopers are held back from killing Ataru directly, because that would make Lum sad. But if it were accidental, you might be able to get her on the rebound.

But if that happened, the question is, who would get Lum? I don't think any of the Stormtroopers would, they'd kill each other trying to. And Shinobu would probably rip Shutaro right in half. I guess that just leaves every other guy in Tomobiki.
