They have the voice cast and the animation looks exactly the same as the anime except that the backgrounds look updated, they could make a few OVAs if they wanted to. The animation of the new OVA looked nowhere near as good as this.

How come they have animation ready for Pachinko games and not for any decent OVA?

ya i don't get that. If they were able to update some of the episodes (and even the movie) for a slot machine why not release a new DVD with some updated episodes or even another OVA...

I can answer with just one word: COPYRIGHT !!!

Remember that the holder of UY's copyright is Ms Rumiko Takahashi and to make a new episode needs, first of all, to pay (a lot, but I think that this is not a problem) and, second, her consent.

Well, the second one is greatest obstacle: since 1987 she strongly refuse to realize any kind of sequel of UY.

In my own opinion, this for three reasons:

- OBSESSION: she's a vulcanic mangaka, able to create tons of different tales (EACH ONE OF BIG SUCCESS) and she REJECTS the idea of being trapped in one of them;

- PRUDENCE: if R.T. announces a sequel to UY would create a huge expectation, but her fans won't forgive any flop;

- CUNNING: UY "as is" allow her to earn a lots of money, so why take a risk ?


Well, in this way we havn't any way out to have any kind of news about Lamù, right ?!?

The other point is that I AM A DREAMER ("but I'm not the only one"  ), so.......

Well I'd love to see a sequal to come out of UY which I consider by far her best work. aside from that I have a quick question. Me and my Fiance are fighting about the fact that Miroku from InuYasha was stemmed from Ataru. I see it but she is saying he isn't even when I can provide the proof.

Miroku is by far the most dumbed down Monk in all of the series Rumiko Takahashi has created. Miroku stemmed from Ataru from the first episode when Ataru grabbed Shinobu's butt.
