Topic: Increase UY Popularity

Alright, this plan has two parts and I really hope we get some support.

MyAnimeList.net is a site that lets you keep track of the anime you watch. You run a search on an anime, add it to your list, and then you can set how many episodes you have watched. Your list page is divided by "Watching" "Completed" "On-Hold" "Plan to Watch" and "Dropped"

The same thing applies to manga.

Now, you can also rate anime from a scale of 1-10. The higher the average score, the higher rank that anime will be on the Rank list.

So, I need people to join the website, add Urusei Yatsura (TV) to their list, set is as completed (195/195), and give it a score of 10.

With enough people doing this, UY should rise up in ranks. Currently it is rank #352. In addition, it will increase the number of "members" in that anime and therefore increase "popularity"

So please see if you can find the time to do this.

Part two is to join the UY club that was created a few days ago.

We are planning a petition for the movie VA's to dub the series. Here's a quote from the admin:

so how do we get a petition started?

Put together a small, no-cost webpage that we can use to gain email signatures from...Yahoo has a free service called geocities that allows free webhosting...there are others.
We can start right here on MAL to get a sample of the possibilitiies but this sample would only be accurate if we message the majority of users on MAL that like UY.
If we are going to do this lets get every person that likes UY to join this club and then put the offical word out in MAL and then a on free webhosting site, like Geocities.

If the series gets dubbed, the popularity increase even more!

Please help, this isn't a very difficult thing to do either, but EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL can make a huge contribution by doing this.

Didn't know about a UY group though, I'm joining right away.

Also, I have UY on hold with 109 episodes watched, and that's how I'm keeping it for now.

By the way, I'm not sure I agree with dubbing UY...
I love the japanese voices and I prefer my anime in japanese with english subs (except for some rare exceptions).

I understand people who prefer sub, and I respect their opinions/views (especially when they aren't the type who will bash the other type)

But getting the series dubbed by the movie VA's, (I think they were much better than the first TV dub), it should increase the POPULARITY of the anime, and UY will become more well known.

From a Marketting perspective, UY targets fans from the sub-lovers market. Expanding to the dub-lovers market, I think, would be a good idea. If they were to make money off of letting a company make an ENG dub, maybe JUST MAYBE they will do more episodes/OVAs/Movies?

Also, just wanna bring this up.

Giving scores to other anime could bump them up in ranks making it harder for UY to proceed.

Just saying... you don't have to do anything, just wanted to bring that up.

Again, the point of the dub is to expand into a market that hasn't been fully implemented.

dub = new consumers = increase in total consumers = increase popularity

Our goal is the top 30! So let's get past 178 anime by raising the average rank from 7.94 to 8.58/10!!!

The top 10 are ranked with scores of 8.83 and up.

I tried my best not voting for other Animes... but it was hard... and there are lots of Hentai OVA... kinda made me drift away from me original purpose... XD

Btw, Dubbed? If my 1st time I watched a UY episode and it was dubbed... I probably wouldn't be here today... on the forum...
