And, I'll concur. No subs. For THAT, you gotta wait for the Region-1 release (here in North America) or a release targeted at UK audiences. And, while no-one is saying directly just yet, it's a safe bet that there will be a Region-1 release of the series.

Yes, there is a cameo of Lum in the Ranma 1/2 OVA. It's not very good, she's partially off-camera from the very beginning of it. I'll work on getting a screencap.

Yes, those are screencaps from the UY OVA. Those are not my doing, just for the record. Shinobu catching a deathtrap of school desks only to receive NO help from the surrounding boys (instead they applaud appreciatively, making her angrier), Mendou getting his head caught in Ran's shoulder-fired cannon, and the first reveal of Lum in her swimsuit.

Here's a couple cameos in the new OVA of obscure UY characters:

That's the pool-goblin and the boy who took him home in the middle of the picture (and does that woman to the left have a TAIL sticking out of the back of her miniskirt?!?!)


To the left of the two businessmen (and partly hidden behind them): it's that bird-thing Lum re-animated; to the right of the two businessmen: it's the mayor of the town of the Watermelon God (holding a watermelon, of course). Lum & Ataru are at the top of the steps, by-the-way....

Oh my god... I think I've just fallen in love again. If there's one thing that I completely love is when TV shows pick older characters to star in later episodes. It feels like they are something more than just characters, you know?

Btw, Ran's original seiyuu has passed away and I would like to know who's going to play her.

Cata: You Inoue, Ran's original VA, left the series midway through (to spend more time with her then-new immigrant husband [a Nepalese, I think?]). She was replaced by Kazue Komiya, who continued to voice Ran-chan through the conclusion of the series. Ms. Inoue returned to UruseiYatsura in the voice of Karla from the 5th movie.

You Inoue died in 2003 after losing a long battle with Lung Cancer.

I assume Ms. Komiya provided Ran-chan's voice for this episode.
