Topic: Does anyone know a good youtube downloader and converter that works?

I've tried stand alone programs and firefox add ons, some just don't work and some stop youtube videos from working until they are uninstalled. Can anyone help?

I use Safari browser, then in that, I open the Activity window, which displays every single file on the page. I find the one that says "XXmb of XXmb" and download it (That means that it's streaming). Thats the video right there.

it won't work with videos that are set so u can't link/embed/etc but its a good site.

Give YouTube Downloader a try. I've heard it works (according to YouTube Poop artists) They just updated it recently, so it should work.

use keepvid to download the file and then try with RIVA ENCODER to convert from flv in avi !

I used them for several times, it has ever worked !!  :D

Youtube does download videos properly. It can also select to download HQ, HD, SQ and Best Available.

I thought videos could be upscaled using Windows Movie Maker but publishing it as 1080 makes the quality worse. Does anyone know how to upscale videos to near definition?

Edit: I wanted to upscale the Urusei Yatsura opening and endings to HD but the way I tried didn't work, that is why I wanted to get a downloader

update your adobe flash player for the Youtube HD support if you want to download videos from youtube try this firefox addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10137 it's something that adds an download option  under any video description. you even can download hd videos if they are available.

using the addon is simple, when you want to save a video you are watching just copy the name right-click the download option for mp4 (recommended) and choose "save link as" a save window will appear
choose your location, paste the name on the box and if it says it's saving as a HTML just add the extension
".mp4" at the end. and you are done

you can actually convert any video to HD.....minus the HD quality, it would be just a waste of space because if the source video is damaged or in bad quality, the outcome will still be the same

Yup, my HD uploads were originally DVD rips, so the outcome isn't so painful to watch.

atube catcher, google it and then download and install the program and you can download from youtube.

or install new version of real player and you can download from that site.

to convert videos, use the total video converter.
