Oni's anatomy
« on: March 12, 2011, 09:20:17 PM »
I'm curious As you can imagine you fans of Lum, anatomy of Lum and an Oni's.
I propose a mini description 3-5 rows.
I do not know if I opened the topic to the right place but but ask nicely a moderator to move the topic to the right place.

Okay, it's moved.

Hum... I'm not sure what your question is but I'll try to answer anyway. Rumiko Takahashi stated many times that one of the aspects that she tried to show with UY is that aliens (onis) aren't THAT much different from humans. So... when it comes to anatomy... the only things that change are properties (lightening, fire breathing, flying, etc.), hair colour and the shape of the ears.

Uhmm... I think that if Lum had some majour differences we would see them, since she uses to run around practically naked... XDXD

I refer at internal organs like: heart, liver, kidney, etc form, size and structure and number. Form and size a muscle and bones, etc. Colour of her blood, Subtance of her horn (as a keratine like hair and nail or calcium like bones or a foreign substance?
This is my interested me. So what I mean I we can not see outside. I Ask of thee if somehow the author has said something specifically about this.

No, Rumiko never talked about Lum's internal organs. However, like I said, RT claimed that one of the points she was making with UY was that aliens = humans, so we can assume that Lum = human with "minor" changes.

Well, scientifically speaking, I think that if Lum had differences in terms of shape, size and number of bones and internal organs her body couldn't be so similar to human's.
As for her blood... I don't rememember if she actually bled in any episode, but when she was hit on the head in episode 163, the bump was red. So I think her blood is just like ours... I don't think Oni's horns are the same material of their bones, since they come off so easily and grow back in a short time.

^ just a thought: pigs' organs are the organs that are most similar to humans'. However, I don't think pigs look like humans. Well... most of humans. xD

*I had a hard time typping this in English and I appologize if it doesn't make sense.*
