Have the voice actors for the yet to be released OVA obstacle swim meet been announced yet?

I don't think there are any plans of them dubbing it (yet). After all, unless you order online, these OVAs are only going to be released in Japan.

Besides, do you really want Ataru and the gang to sound like some stereotypical teenage ***holes?

Speaking about voice actors... as it been confirmed the seiyus for Lum and Ataru?
Because the original ones... they're old... XD

Well Ataru seiyu is still active... With his roles as Piccolo in DBZ Kai and as Portgas D. Ace in One Piece.

But Fumi Hirano... last work she did was in 2006 as Reiko Shimizu, in a Detective Conan Movie... and last major work was in some OVA's back in 1986...

I've heard somewhere that the VAs are gonna be the same. And from what seen/heard from the previews, the voices sound exactly the same as the did in the 80s. So either the originals are back, or they are DAMN GOOD voice actors XD

They got the original voice actors (& actresses) to reprise their roles. Two exceptions: the original voice actress for Ran, You Inoue, had left the series midway through and was replaced by Kazue Komiya; Ms. Inoue died in 2003.  And, the Stormtroopers are not in the OVA; instead, the animators went back to the manga and brought in Kosuke Shirai, Ataru's best friend; he is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi (better known for his roles as Inuyasha and male Ranma Saotome).

Lum's stormtroopers in the new OVA? For me Megane was one of the coolest characters! How could they?

If we analyze certain "revivals" of anime thru OVAs,we can conclude that the new directors want to do a product more faithful to the manga and ditch the elements provided by the anime

Sometimes it works,sometimes it does not (an example of this can be found on the Saint Seiya OVAs that ignored the changes made in the anime in favor of following the manga in all details,it did not went well)

That theory mat explain why they got rid of Satoshi Megane and his gang of Lumaholics (Fun Fact: They were the first official Lumaholics)

Oh guys! Calm down! It's not like they died! Anyways, I think I'll enjoy meeting with Ataru's bestfriend Kosuke Shirai, since I can't read Manga or any type of book due to my huge hatred for reading.

I think adding Kosuke is a risky move, because most people will not know who he is. I've never read the manga either, although I did already know the stormtroopers were made in the anime to replace one of Ataru's great friend.

Was he ever shown in any of the OVA's previews? When I read the corresponding manga, I didn't see anyone different, especially not Kosuke.
