It's A Rumic World Returns
The "It's a Rumic World" gallery exhibition will return, this time at the Mitsukoshi department store in Sendai. The expo will run from Dec. 23rd through Jan. 5th and will most likely mark the debut of the new Urusei Yatsura anime which wasn't finished in time for the Tokyo debut. Source: Websunday.net

It's  probably  refering  to  just  one  episode  special.  It's  very  unlikely  that  they  are  going  to  restart  the  series.  And  even  if  they  do  they  are  problably  going  to  do  the  same  thing  that  most  new  anime  shos  do.  Selling  them  self  in  sex  appeal.

When they say anime they could be refering to just one anime... not a anime series... If you get my point...

If  they  restart  the  anime  series  then  it  woud  probably  ruin  the  series.  A  show  about  the  eithies  then  remaking  for  this  century  would  work.  Its  like  remaking  the  finstones  with the  dark  ages.

well, if there was ever to RESTART the series that would no-doubt suck, and i know thats never ever gonna happen, 195-eps cant just be written off like that.
however, a separate and new or continuation is something very well possible, even if not too probable, and id really like that. i think a short new OVA series wud also be nice! i hope they do some day!!

I  thing  the  only   way  that  they  might  restart  the  series  susesfully  they  would  have  to  make  it  about  the  children.  Kind  of  like  what  happens  20  years  later  kind  of  thing.  That  might  work.

I don't have a problem with restarting the series. As long as it's not the same old same old, I don't see why anyone would. That's what I'm doing with UYRemix. Trying to make something new out of something old. Familiar characters and (some) familiar situations, but told in a new way, with a lot more going on behind the scenes.

I'm going for more of a "what would it be like if this was really happening" type of thing, as opposed to "gag of the week, with aliens".

It shouldn't take me to long to write up the first 5 chapters (they're already plotted out as it is). I'll let anyone judge for themselves when I get that done.

New Urusei Yatsura Episode Debut
The new episode of Urusei Yatsura has finally had a date schedule for its debut. The new episode will debut on December 23rd at the Sendai location of the "It's a Rumic World!" gallery show. The new special was originally slated to debut alongside the new Ranma ½ and Inuyasha episodes, but the animators fell behind schedule.

You really think someone's going to allow it to go unrecorded, copied a thousand times, subtitled, and pirated? Since when do otaku ever let that happen? Especially since it's so easy to do with modern technology?

It's not that... I have a hard time picturing HOW they go about it. Ruling out filming it with a camera (cause the quality would suck) how would one get a copy?

Do the episodes air on TV or at some convention? That's what I don't get. Cause it's one thing getting a TV series, cause it shows up on TV. But a special premiere sounds like it might take place in a theater type area.
