Lum would never leave Ataru, she realizes that she will eventually change Ataru, and I think she enjoys shocking Ataru, Lum knows that Ataru will survive everything she can dish out, Lum also knows that Ataru loves her, so she'll never leave him

He loves her and a thousand of other women.
And Ataru survives at everything, including a thousand missiles.

I have seen that, both the manga and anime, she only did that to make ataru jealous, would have worked completely if that damn shark/dolphin didn't change into a girl, but still got most of what she wanted

something similar also happens in episode 191, where Lum gets partially kidnapped and engaged, making ataru jealous and he goes to her rescue, Lum only wants to make ataru realize that he only needs her and that it is pointless try on other girls

Lum is a more beautiful and much better person than Shampoo in my opinion. I haven't seen many episodes of Ranma 1/2, but from what I've seen, Shampoo does not exactly come across to me as a likeable character. Someone on the Internet Movie Database told me that Rumiko Takahashi created Shampoo to be a better version of Lum. If you ask me, it's impossible to make a better version of Lum. O+

i loved shampoo in the first few episodes that she appeared, but as she began to settle into the series she began to change, but right now im sitting on my final decision, there not twins, there mother and daughter, if you think about it, there personality is kinda similar, they look the same, shampoo doesnt have the oni horns because of the human DNA in her

BTW if you want to think about it, you could say that cherry is the younger version happosai, think about it

I never read the beginning of the manga, so i didnt see that, i just went by what i saw in the anime, there was no reference to any of shampoo's parents so it was a plausible thoery for me, and you never know how ataru could have changed when he finally set his heart to lum (all the zaps and injuries could have a lasting effect on ataru), oh ya there is the possibility that lum didnt marry ataru, may be she just gave up and took off
