Epi 157: I Love Darling's Sincerity

eyedtentea:
My favorite episodes usually are the ones that center around Lum and Ataru's relationship -- some strange series of event(s) that test their true feelings for each other.

Episode 157:  I Love Darling's Sincerity is kinda along those lines.  I enjoyed it, because I believe it shows the true Ataru.  He had nothing to gain for his actions.  It took a little convincing from the others, but when he agreed, he was a good guy about it.  Lum was a little jealous, but she was more touched by his sincerity as the episode progressed.

Notable scenes:
- Lum's reaction to what the Stormtroopers were thinking (that was hilarious) ;D
- the ending and Lum's suggestion and Ataru's response

Was that only an anime story or did they have a manga version too?

Cosmic King:
They had a manga version of dat episode,it goes more or less da same, except a part inda end, quite a touching episode, one of those strange moments when ataru isnt in Girl Hunt mode

janus:
yes, that eppy/chap showed Ataru's good heart, although he tried to flee once he saw those winter clothes, other that then he didn't try to run away( as I remember), he was only trying to cool his body instead

Yeah... he was reluctant to wear the sweater, but then felt sorry for her after he found out why there was a missing sleeve.  He wore it all, even after she left.  He's a good guy.

Ryou:
Interesting notes about this episode:

-Nozomi (the ghost girl's name) means literally "hope".
-Two of the songs heard in this episode don't appear in the Complete Music Box (completely strange, isn't it?)
-In the manga version she didn't finish the left sleeve, and in the anime version she didn't finish the right one.

The manga is essentially the same, just that the anime counterpart is more detailed, in the end of the manga, Ataru and Lum have a little conversation in front of Nozomi's tombstone, in the end of the anime they have kind of the same conversation after they leave the cemetery. And Nozomi's mother don't appear in the manga version, except once.
