Comparing Windows XP to Vista?
So, dunno if you used Windows 98, but if yes, do you remember when you changed from Win98 to XP? it is almost the same change.
So, things changed, but after a short time of habituation, you get it.
Beside the graphical change, the windows management changed a bit too. For example, my computer zone show you much more info, the control panel is more complex, more options, etc.
The ultimate edition also come with the windows Media Center, so, if you know the XP media center OS, this is almost the same, but inbuilt on vista ultimate.
Also, with the usage of big capacities pendrives, it ask you if you would like to use it, as some kind of ram reinforcement.

We can get one window asking permition for some changes that might affect the system, it is boring, but help protect the system from unwanted changes, like for example, if is one malware deleting something, or changing any setting.
If you guys don't want the aero and fancy 3d stuff, change the theme to vista basic

Sounds cool. But if people just want to get the skins of Vista for XP there's a way to do it.
Check out this site: http://crystalxp.net/bricopack/en.htm. It even has the skin of Longhorn (the next Windows, still being developed).
Signatured postponed until I cba to make a new one. x.x

Longhorn is Windows Vista.
The next windows will be Viena (Blackcomb), and will completely loose that start button.

What I heard was that they started developing Longhorn before Vista, but they delayed it so much that Vista appeared first. Longhorn is still to come. But that's what I've heard.

Hmm, I think I'll stick to Windows XP Professinal Corporate Edition...
I'm in no hurry to upgrade just because the OS says so  :_

Man, you are putting os pés pelas mãos :P

1-> they released XP.
2-> they started delevoping blackcomb
3-> Blackcomb was really delaied, and they started the project longhorn to be like one bridge between XP and blackcomb
4-> in 2005, they reveiled the real name of Longhorn, they changed it to vista.
5-> Blackcomb is now knew as viena, and will hit the market in nearly 2009 to 2011

Yeah, guess that's it. I asked my friend who had told me that and that's also what he said.

Btw, you guys ask why i stayed so long with windows 2000 professional (sp4) and i reply, because it was really stable for me, never got problems, installation worked more than 2 years after format, and only formatted because i had tons of programs installed that i didn't used.
Afteral, Windows 2000 and XP are almost the same. XP was made using 2000 as basis.
