Shame here in Portugal 16 isn't as special as in America and other countries, because adulthood starts at 18 only.

I don't think 16 i technically adulthood here either I think 16 is just the year you get to start doing things you couldn't before like learn to drive and most jobs require 16+

But I'm pretty sure, at least here, that 18 is official adulthood

16 is far from adulthood. It's not even really special here in the states, other than it being the age where you can get a driver's license and drop out of school. 18 is nice and comes with a lot of freedoms... you can vote, make your own decisions in life and are considered legal for most things, but it's 21 where you get the almost full privileges as an adult. 25 is where you get the last remaining few little things of adulthood, though.

Hah! Yeah. Every year, that number grows ominously larger. And every year I look at it and wonder, "how did THAT happen?!"

I admit I LOOK fifty-two these days, but I don't FEEL fifty-two at all (or how I once thought fifty-two should feel?). I just keep following my heart ( :& whatever I'm using for a heart these days) and my muses and they lead me places no "ordinary" 52-year-old could ever dream of seeing....

Places which now include this delightfully daffy little suburb of Tokyo, in the Nerima ward, known as Tomobiki.
