When you look at other manga and anime, do you see a "typical Japanese" in their designs? Or not?
The rest is all semantics.

???

I looked it up to make sure.

semantics (Noun)
The branch of linguistics and logic concerned with meaning.
The meaning of a word, phrase, or sentence.

I do not see what part of my post was ambiguous. Perhaps you could clarify?

As far as the depiction of "typical Japanese", some Manga and Anime styles do show them as close to real life as they can, others don't.  It depends on the artist's intent to get their story across to the target audience.

I didn't mean to infer your statement was ambiguous. As far as the semantics issue was concerned, it all depends on what the author's view of "typical" means.  Everyone has a different viewpoint on reality (or for that matter, non-reality, in this case.)

As a matter of fact, our Anime Club members back in the 90s had a term for something that was totally unrelated to reality as we knew it. "Tomobiki Normal".

It's been nice chatting with you!
