Ending Summer 2011 anime and Fall 2011 preview
« on: September 21, 2011, 08:19:50 AM »
Alright then, 3 months have gone by and its time to put our cards on the table.
But first, here is the visual guide for the Fall season.

as always for more information head on over to Moetron
http://www.moetron.com/2011/08/13/fall-2011-visual-guide-and-anime-listing-2/

it seems that I end up picking up other anime than the ones I was initially intended to watch. but its ususally because some don't appear on the website I visit and it becomes a hassle trying to find the next episode.

So the two of that I ended watching were

The Idolm@ster
It was entertaining, not a big deal. the only reason I kept watching this was because of Miki and Hibiki

Mayo Chiki
A crossdressing butler, wasn't half bad. beach episode and onsen episode, typical. what you'd expect from these types of anime, not that I'm complaining since I don't seem to get tired of them just yet.

now onto the ones I will hopefully will be watching this next 3 months.
If you've been reading every topic I make about this you'll know that I'm going to watch Working'!! And Persona 4: The Animation. hopefully I will pick up more of them since the Fall season is usually when many good anime comes out.

Yay... New season... ;D

From the summer season I don't have complains, but I can't find a anime that "connected" with me. But if I had to chose one it would be probably Dantalian no Shoka just because it reminds me of Gosick. ;D Kamisama Dolls was good to for the facial expressions they made.

Mayo Chiki, R-15 and Ro-Kyu-Bu could have been so much better if they didn't fall into the cliches of comedy-romance/ecchi anime.

For the new season I'm looking forward for Boku Wa Tomodachi Ga Sukunai, I've been reading the manga(s) and it looks promissing. Even the OVA that already aired is almost identical to the manga Chapter 0. The animation kinda simplefied Yozora and Kodaka looks but whatever, even Yozora seiyu is not exacly what I was imagining it to be, but oh well we can't always have everything... just happy they made it into anime.

Shinryaku!! Ika Musume and Working'!! Will be the others I will defenitly watch... as for the rest... I'll wait and see.

So many hopes I would have new stuff to watch and pass time at work but I guess it will only be 3 animes to watch from this season.

The rest kinda seem mash ups of other anime that already aired. And I'll give you an example... Maken-Ki... Anyone remembers Freezing? And do you remember Ikki Tousen? And do you also remember A Certain Magical Index? ;D
Well that's basically Maken-Ki! They picked up all 3 anime DVD volumes and put everything into a Blentec blender and what came out was Maken-Ki.

I was going to talk about some others but some people already have it on the watch list so I'm keeping it to myself.

Btw...
Ben-To... Really?!
While innocently reaching for some half-priced bento, Yō Satō finds himself beaten up on the floor of a supermarket. He soon learns that getting half-priced bento in this supermarket is an all-out brawl between students. Yō is invited to the Half-Priced Food Lovers Club by one of the top fighters, Sen Yarizui, in order to train to compete in these battles.

I just laughed so much. Well the light novel is still being published so... must be interesting but... really? ;D

I think I'll start my discussion on my anime list with the anime I carried over from the Summer

1) Digimon Xros Wars (part 3, essentially)

If you don't look at the 3 parts as separate anime, this is the longest digimon series since the first (54 episodes).  Digixros technique returns in part 3 but with a new protagonist leading the group, reminds me of Davis from the 2nd series.  I'm pretty sure a lot of people already hate this new guy especially since its not like Taiki left the show, he's still a part of the series and has pretty much all his digimon with him.

2) Mawaru Penguin Drum

Up until last week's episode I couldn't really get why this series was rated R... I now do. It seems like every additional episode makes you think "wtf did I just see?" and you CAN'T get used to it or anticipate the WTF bombs they will drop on you.

3) Morita-san wa Mukuchi 2

... 5 minute episodes = an easy watch. Why not?

4) Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyou

I'm starting to think I was supposed to watch the first part... my bad -_-''' but the stuff in this show is interesting nonetheless and I don't believe I've seen this kind of thing in other anime, the way the yokai use fear as a weapon and every Yokai has a different TYPE of fear.

5) Yugioh ZeXal

the last season ended with a Super Saiyan version of the main character XD can't wait to see where this goes now that a tourny is starting up.

------------

That's the carry over anime so far. I'll get to the returning anime (new season) later :D
