Yeah I understood the first series better. Not so skilled at the card game lol and I played one of the games on gamecube. It was the one where you move your players around a board and fight other duel monsters.

The movie was so awesome too :D I liked the concept of Kaiba actually thinking he beat Yami for once lol and how Pegasus's special cards suddenly went missing.

The manga owns the anime. Well, the anime is average, I saw it when I was a kid, but I bought 4 vols of the manga and it's completely diferente from the anime. Much more dark and psycho.

Yeah. Firstly, 4Kids spoiled the anime. It's heavily censored. But, even without censorship... the manga is a lot better.
The first ep in the anime begins on the 7th vol. Yea, so, where is the story of the first 7 vols? Good question.
I think it's because the manga (at least at vol4) is full of deaths and psychologic games. And the story isn't based on the cards... very interesting, no?

You guys know that there IS an anime for the first volume(s) of the manga, right?

Where you have been talking about "YuGiOh Duel Monsters" so far, there is "YuGiOh" or "YuGiOh Season 0" that shows the beginning of the series like the manga, starting with Yugi finishing the puzzle.

I haven't read the manga so I don't really know.

Also it does not connect with season one as the two are more or less alternate series.

All I can say is that season 0 follows the manga from the beginning, is 27 episodes, has little (not nothing) to do with the card game, and the final game is Yami versus Bakura in a Game Master Dungeon game version of their duel in season one.

Also features "Miho" who does not appear in the Duel Monster series'

I get it. Its still good to know about season 0. I like Yami, Kaiba, and Tea the most out of everyone.
