Vocaloid Concert 2011
« on: February 18, 2011, 04:11:44 AM »
(copypasta from the Vocaloidism post on Facebook, with appropriate editing)

http://5pb.jp/mikupa/weblive/
The MikuPa Live concert will be aired live on NicoNico Douga on March 9, 2011, starting at 19:00 (Japan Time) (there may be a "pre-game show" starting a half-hour before).

The live link is: http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv40009475

You will be able to watch some parts of the concert for free. If you want to see it all, you will have to pay 2000 NicoNico points.

(but wait it gets worse)

Note that in order to obtain NicoNico Points, you need a credit card issued in Japan to purchase them. One method of payment if you live outside of Japan would be WebMoney (their suggestion; I've never used it)

You can test your computer & conection with this test stream: http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv25063688

Das ist allusalles.

If you mean as-in a premium membership (instead of the free membership like I have) ... maybe. I'm not sure yet. I'll post an inquiry about this over on the Vocaforum and will post the answer here once I have it.

Mmm .. by-the-way: a plug for the Vocaforum (the forum portion of the Vocaloidism website): fun site, very nice members and incredibly silly. I like 'em! http://www.vocaforum.com/forum.php

If you need help signing up to NicoNicoDouga, a tutorial is here: http://www.vocaforum.com/showthread.php?t=7

I'll risk a scolding :police: and double-post here:

MikuPa 2011 is in the history books. I was able to view the webstream and it was fun to participate in that way.

This year, they used a jumbotron-style screen (like a giant TV, placed in the middle of the stage) instead of rear-projecting onto a stage-wide transparent screen as they did last year. While this probably makes it easier to take the show on the road (a show is scheduled for Sapporo on May 3rd), and makes the characters easier to see for the live audience, the transparent screen gave the illusion of "Being There" to the characters that was lacking this year.

Rin & Len Kagamine enjoyed an increased presence this year: Len had more than 1 song and Rin actually joined Miku in the 1st encore. Luka lost stage time, doing a medley of 5 songs instead of 4 full numbers like last year (Luka needs more hits!).

Overall the show was good, and now that I've surmouted the hurdles of buying "a ticket" (using WebMoney.com ==> to buy credits ==> with which I can buy NicoNico Points ==> which purchase the web-ticket ==> to the show stream) I will probably do this again next year.

(wow! vids are already hitting YouTube!)

Which would you say is better?
This one of 39's Giving day?

The original (2010's "39's Giving Day") was by far the best. Without that transparent screen, Mikupa lost the amazing presentation that GivingDay had. Now, let's add to it, the 2011 Mikunopolis (LosAngeles show): the transparent screen was back, but I thought the sound was poor (as poor as Mikupa). Maybe that will be fixed in whatever disc they may put out. I'll wait and see.
