Lum misunderstood that Ataru had proposed to her. She said that she would live with him for life and he would be punished with electrical zapping if his doing anything flirty and unfaithful to Lum. In fact, Lum demonstrated zapping on Ataru.

Lecherous Ataru is attracted to see the real breast of Lum.

Teeth-declayed and horn-installed Ataru comes! Ataru' fate is haunted by Lum, receiving Lum's high-voltage zapping for life. He lost all freedom to date other girls.

Finally, Ataru and Lum gets married even though Ataru shows his unwillingness.

but I think that Lum Invader is more suitable to lecherous Ataru.

In fact, there is an early chapter mentioning Ataru spilts in two after eating both spicy food from Lum and a bun from Cherry.

One is hardworking and serious Ataru, who likes Shinobu.

Another is lecherous and silly Ataru, who likes sexy Lum Invader.

Ataru's father can't afford to 2 Atarus (Um, Ataru is 17-years old)

His father would rather keep the former and let the latter one leave the Earth for Oniboshi.

But his mother wants Ataru change back to original.

I know that Lum and his father were one-chapter characters for initial plan. And disappeared in the 2nd chapter.

However readers and fans wanted Lum to come back. Also, Takahashi's team had no idea for the following chapters. Lum returned in the 3rd chapter and formaly becames a major character.

But in chapter 1, her father Ataru must came to Oniboshi for marriage with Lum. But in chapter 3, Lum camed to Earth for Ataru. It made a little contradiction. (At least, Lum is a princess of Oniboshi, her father should object her to live in the Earth permantly.)

Back to the Original Topic, I have always believed that best method for Lum to marry Ataru (besides True Love) is using the candies known as "Heart Stealers" (from OVA 09)

They are fast, somehow efficient and easy to produce
