Topic: Do you think that Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 should have went against the TV anim

The first Rebuild of Evangelion was a total remake of the first few episodes of the TV series, the second one completely goes against the TV series. I think the instrumentality project is integral to the plot and shouldn't be messed with, I really expect that it will stay in the rebuild films. Some purists may not like the storyline being changed but I welcome it, its like getting a second series of evangelion. I was disappointed with the End of Evangelion - EoE is how the instrumentality project comes about and is what happens physically, the last episodes of the TV series shows what is happening mentally and emotionally - and would love to see it redone, hopefully as both what happens mentally and emotionally as well as what happens physically. I really hope the rest of the rebuild series is great and surpasses the TV series.

PS Does anyone know when End of Evangelion 2.0 and 2.22 (the extended version) are coming out? Thanks.

First rebuild actually has some alternate scenes and animation. It also included some scenes, I think from episodes closer to the end. With 1.0, 1.01, and 1.11 it's hard to tell which has which.

Rebuild 2.0 was already created in japan and is probably subbed somewhere.

The english dub is coming this new year, January I believe.

There are some differences between Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 and 1.11 but not many, its more about what has been cut out. There is less charcter development in RoE 1.0 compared to the TV series. But Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 has a completely different storyline to the TV series with a new pilot from Israel and an angel that invades the Eva.

I love the idea that it went against the tv series. Do you really want to be basically be watching a summary of the tv series or would you rather watch something actually new in movie?
