DAMN YOU, ICELAND!
« on: April 18, 2010, 03:09:26 PM »
Been following the fallout (literally) of the volcanic eruption on Iceland as seen through the eyes of members of the Lucky Star Shrine Forum, many of which are directly impacted by the ash cloud.

One member (hi, Droote!) lives on the seacoast of Norway above the Arctic Circle and wrote that his mom was stranded in Oslo and will have to rent a car and drive home (it will take her 24 hours if she drives non-stop; imagine being 1,200 miles from your nearest anime retailer).

Another member (hi, VK!) from the UK was vacationing in the USA with his folks and is stuck here for an extra week (bloody costly!).

Other stories of how this is affecting deliveries of fresh foods and putting a SNAFU on FedEx and UPS deliveries.

So. Wondering how the Icelandic volcano eruption is affecting you guys. Everybody okay out there?

I'm ok... but... I work in a hotel... we lost several reservations because of the ash clouds... but still the ones that can't leave need to stay somewhere so... its all good... XD

I'm on the other side of Canada so... this effects me 0% as I could have gone through my days without knowing about the eruption (I found out by watching SNL "let me make sure I'm reading this right, a VOLCANO?")

It's funny... Iceland 1st goes bankrupt... (yes a nation... bankrupt) causes chaos around the financial world... and now this...

Offtopic: Btw... I'm sure you guys know about the 2012 thing... I don't believe in that... but seriously... by the way this is going... December 21st 2012 wont be the day the world will start crumbling... but really the last day...

I just hope there's robots... or else that will be a crappy ending...  ;D

I also share the same feeling with Falling. xD
But then again, I prefer not to think about it.

In Portugal, we aren't really affected except for the fact of our airplanes. Our President was outside of the country and he returned yesterday I think. He came back on an airplane but had to travel a long distance using a limousine. He also took 6 kids, that were walking by, with him to school. xD
