R.Takahashi vs UY's doujinshi
« on: January 07, 2010, 02:50:20 PM »
I'm wondering what's the relationship between a mangaka and doujinshi, allegedly between R.T. and all the "work side" that are dedicated.

I refer in particular to "THAT" kind of doujinshi, listed as "reserved for a male audience" (those porn, just to understand each other).

Normally they havn't great quality but I was shocked by the work made by Choiji Manabe: in addition to the fact that he's himself a famous manga artist, has created an hentai of superior quality, perfect in every detail (also "those" detail: he himself had admitted to have a perverted mind!).

I saw that is not the only one that does something like that, for example the creator of the saga of "SailorMoon" delights in creating doujinshi stories (but not porn).

The question is: how much are they tolerated?

It 'just because they are limited edition?

Most of all this one: into the stories of R.T. love is always presented as a feeling of conflict or (at max) a platonic sentiment (once only she drew 2 persons who had sex on "Maison Ikkoku" but it was the "happy end" of last episode and was still a very modest drawing), so I wonder: maybe she is not even aware of these things?

Or the ancient Romans were right when they said that "pecunia no olet"?? (= money does not stink)?

I'm sure RT just enjoys making romantic comedies which are usually funnier while the couple isn't together (yet).

It's one of those things best left for the reader's imagination. Detail would defeat the series' point.

I remember reading somewhere about Takahashi saying she had no problems with people making fan-fictions about this kinda stuff.

Well, fanfics imply, as the name says, the someone is a fan.
I'm sure any artist likes to see his work recognised, even if it's in this non-official way.

About the adult side of things, that might be different. While it's still a fanfic, some artists might not like the idea (I blame society and its taboos :/).
Signatured postponed until I cba to make a new one. x.x
