Like when I had to vote, I couldn't decide who was my favourite character (Lum or Ataru) and I thought about it, and thought about it and tought about it and... I couldn't decide. So I just went with the "who's the character that makes me smile everytime I see her/him?" philosophy and I picked Lum. xD

So I think it's perfectly "normal" to not be able to pick a favourite character. =)
