How would you envision it? Who would be cast in the title role?
The one change that should be made is Ataru's birth date from Friday the 13th to Guy Fawkes Day!

I don't think it would work out. How would Lum shoot lightening from her body? How would Ataru run all those miles? How would they hide mallets in their pockets? UY is just too complex to make something like that. If it's a movie or a series in TV it's different because there's special effects and computers and all that.

My opinion, though.

for some reason movie adaptations don't seem to convey what anime does.

Although there are strong rumors that they are making Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy bebop movies :D

) Piccolo looks like some guy from Star Trek and Goku... why did he have to be a "white guy"? At least they could have made Shia Lebouf star as Goku... XD

We really do not need any UY live action film,what we need is more anime episodes/movies (there has been an anime revival stage on Japan lately these days,UY deserves to be part of it)

Some time ago I had the chance to see some videos about Maison Ikkoku-Live action movie...

...oh, my...

...the only character quite similar was Soichiro, the dog!

...I strongly hope they will never try to destroy the name of my favorite anime...

i agree about the fact that it would be better if they made more episodes, movies, etc, but i'd like to see the character who will play as Sakurambo. :D

I think it would have to have more of Sakura in it, she is my favourite character and she isn't used as much as she should have been in the original anime.

This cute little bunny is a Romanian born actress that has become quite a star in Japan after the success of her film "Astro Girl" where she parodies the likes of Supergirl

Aye,she may look quite older but somehow she seems to capture some the essence of what Lum is

Any more suggestions for the cast for the live action film of UY?

That's not a bad choice there. And with today's technology/special effects, age isn't really much of issue.

I'm imaging Jim Carrey as Ataru: he'd be perfect in that role due to the funny faces that he's able to do

I don't know who could be Lamù (surely a girl with long long hairs and a perfect body) but I think that she'd be perfect in this role:

Like, have you ever saw one of those interviews or bloopers of videos and such of Britney Spears? Like she has this really cute smile and some innocense (ok, I know what you're thinking) in her face. I don't know, it's just an idea. But I still think a live-action film is not going to work out. =\

Benten could be played by Kate Moennig. Mia Kirshner or Rachel Shelley could play Sakura. Cameron Diaz could play Shinobu because no one would except Cameron Diaz to be physically strong. Pink could play Ryunnosuke. Megane could be played by Harry Potter guy. Who could play Mendo? I can't really think.
