Used ta be, in the Olden Days, "jeans" meant Levi's jeans and Levi's only had but ONE configuration: the 505. The waistline on Levi's 505's was designed to ride just below the natural waist (like an inch [2.5cm] below).

NOW, I buy me beloved Levi's 505's (no other brand fits me just right) and the poster on the wall tells me that the 505 is now designed to fit AT the waist. So, even a "timeless classic" gets redesigned.

Cata: the phrase you sought above ("... that covers almost your belly button and sometimes goes even higher ....") is high-waisted. How do I (a guy) know this? I'm old; you pick up more stuff as you go.

Fashion comes and fashion goes. Waistlines, hemlines, tie and lapel widths, they all ride the fashion roller-coaster.

Yeah, yeah, I know I know: URUSAI!!! :X

That's why I don't like bothering with fashion. Too much hassle. The closest I ever got to fashion was this one fashion design chick I flirted with in college. I almost regret not hooking up with her at least once, she was hot.
Excuse me, have you seen my mind? I seem to have misplaced it...

Showing your underwear is an "important" part of nowadays teens in Portugal. Everywhere I look, I see some boxers coming out of a random jeans. xD

I use baggy jeans and on the "low waist" but I make sure my underwear and privates are PRIVATE! xD

It's hard to show your underwear when you don't wear any. :)

That's called "comando". xD
My brother uses his boxers underneath his bathing shorts because it hurts his package.

Oh, cmon, don't blame him for starting such an interesting conversation. ;D

He means that's how denim jeans were designed to fit women. Believe it or not, men's jeans were designed to be worn that high too. They're supposed to fit snug around the crotch. But no one wears them that way cause no one is comfortable like that. But jeans were never really designed for comfort. They were designed for horseback riding, so you wouldn't tear your legs up when you fall off.

Or at least I think that's what he means.

I thought jeans we're designed for mining? Or at least that's what I've heard all my life...???
Signatured postponed until I cba to make a new one. x.x

Yup! Levi Strauss made 'em for the California gold rush miners. Thanks for jogging the ol' memory.
