Rumiko couldn't predict that the company she was working for would close...

And where exactly did you hear that lie? Shogakukan lets the writers/artists retain the rights to their published works, and they're the only company who publishes her work. I'll be damned if anyone can find the source of that ridiculous rumor I've heard about Stan Lee holding the rights for UY. She holds full rights to the property and could, hypothetically, pick it up again at any time she wants.
Excuse me, have you seen my mind? I seem to have misplaced it...

What lie?

It's the truth... or did she predict the company was going bankrupt?

You're talking about the manga... I wasn't... ;D

"Rumiko Takahashi did not work with Kitty again after the last Ranma OAV was released in 1996; Sunrise handled the animation duties on Inuyasha. As of 2007, the company mainly exists as a talent agency, having sold off the rights of most of their anime hits."

I wonder which one is true!?

Oh, well, if you want to go there... She didn't work for Kitty films, and never did. UY was written as a manga for Shonen Sunday comics. A few years later when it was popular, Kitty acquired the rights to do an anime version, but the story and characters and what not still belong to Rumiko Takahashi. Of course, Kitty really didn't do jack to begin with other than playing middle man and pawning all the work off on Studio Pierrot, and then Studio Deen.

Time? XD

... The truth is the only thing anyone could possibly do is a "remake" and that is already been done lets just wait for it... 2010.

no, man!! no remakes, remakes always suck!! :(
plus, a remake may spoil or contaminate the franchise. as a fan of the original UY, when yu'll be watchin it, yu'll be like, wtf!! what is this?! this isnt how its supposed to be!... Lum never said that!!... Ataru never did that!... i thought cherry was supposed to be ugly!!... who's THIS guy, i never saw him before!!...  and all that. it cud corrupt the series.

See, that's the kinda thinking I was afraid of when I was doing UYRemix. I always kept that in mind and ultimately, it was one of the key reasons why I decided to take my ideas into doing something original.

But I have to disagree with one thing... remakes do NOT always suck. Look at Battlestar Galactica, or the reboot of the 007 universe since Casino Royale. Just because they call it a reimagining or a reboot or whatever instead of a remake doesn't mean it's anything different, even if that was precisely the reason they CALL them anything but a remake.

Well... I still would go with a "remake"...

A 24/26 episodes adaptation of the original series...

... Or they could make my idea... UY+Shuffle!+AMG! = OMG WTF?!
At least in my brain it looks good and funny... ;D

Oh... If I had the money... I would... take a long vacation... XD

I love UY as it is but I want MORE! More EPISODES, more OVAs, more MOVIES!

It's not. We were discussing our opinions on remakes. Making a big deal about how a UY remake would be the worst thing in the world to someone who spent several months on writing a UY remake is likely never to be pretty.

There's no need for abusive and/or excessive swearing and calling names. If this continues, I feel the need to close this thread or take other measurements so keep it cool, nice and easy, yes? Kids do read these boards as well as adults...

Both of you stop...
(my head is spinning from this)
The 2 of you have left the debate completely and focussing on each others flaws, usually when posts are this long i just skim for abusive language but when i have to read the whole thing(from both several post before to the very end) i'm not happy, both side have made assumptions and mistakes, TooCool has realized the error with his 1st and 2nd post and that is good, but both of you are aggravating the other into this arguement.

Sidzero your post was abusive, i cant stop your opinion but please be aware that hate towards another member is not acceptable, unless in extreme instances, such as those that join just for the sense on spreading hate(older members will know these individuals), its true that people can get on others nerves but you have to take another method to showing your disagreement, do some research and give sites that prove other people wrong, you may learn something new as well.

TooCool your not on solid ground either, you should just drop this subject instead of continuing the questions that will only get answers that can be abusive, instigators are as guilty as the person that throws the first punch.

Both of you need to apoligize to each other before this debate continues(if it does)
This is Jenga lol :)

hmm... I can't lock this topic because it was a very usefull topic until a few days ago...

So I think I will just remove some posts or parts of them... I did say last time any agressive offtopic would be deleted.

Just give me time to read all this again... ::)

no, sorry, but i dont support the idea that entire posts be deleted or portions editted out.
it shall not be in the best of interest. and deleting entire posts or parts of them will only be misleading and confusing, and it will break the context (and may also seem like a cover-up for something). im nay towards this notion.
however, u may (and probly shud) censor certain words used or anything that maybe indecent or harmful for this site/community, as u deem suitable.

Well, You see TooCool if you just acted the same way as your username (TooCool) nothing of this would have happen.

I'm not saying this is all your fault... I just think you didn't know that Sidzero goes hardcore when it comes to defending his ideals and stuff... But still the way you replied doesn't make you any better than Sidzero. So don't go blaming all on him.

Another thing, Sidzero, I think this is the 3rd time you go into a "post war" War ;D with someone...  Please try to go easy on people... I think you're experienced enough to know the limits.

And I removed posts that I think went way offtopic and I may have accidently deleted some that weren't and for that I apologize.
