I'm sure most of you have heard of the popular Caramelldansen trend on youtube. I've seen Death Note Caramelldansen... DBZ Caramelldansen... SOS Brigade/Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Caramelldansen... Zelda Caramelldansen... even Super Smash Brothers Brawl Caramelldansen!

But I haven't seen any Urusei Yatsura Caramelldansen!!!

Has anyone created UY Caraelldancers? If so, is there a video made yet and where?

If not... we need to make one!

Oh I seen it...But I can't make one Because:

1) where am I going hide it?
2) how can I make one?
3) would you guys even watch it?

Why would you hide it?

To make one, I think first you need 3 OR 5 frames of a character. One facing left, one facing right and one up. If you wanna make it look better, you'll make two more frames with the character in between the left and center and between the right and center. And that's just the one character, need background and maybe a few more characters to dance.

I'd be able to make the animation, but making the characters would be a bit difficult for me.

Of course we would watch it!!!

There are a lot more than the ones we have o far mentioned too.

LoL... what the hell is this? This is so... so... Kawaii... XD ...and you want to make a UY one? There's one already you know... 2 actualy... we can say UY was pionier in that thing... Lum1 & Lum2 and if you want more here's another... Lum & Ataru and another one Lum

Those are 4 endings of Urusei Yatsura, not caramelldansen UY.

Caramelldansen UY would be like one or two characters doing that exact dance in the video you just posted. Hip to the left hip to the right, wavey wavey wavey, and with a ^_^ face

Hmm... Caramelldansen is just a gif image looping with a backgroung song LoL.. you'll see that at least 3 of those endinds are able to become caramelldansen material... just put Lum dancing on loop and with the song Caramelldansen on background and what do you get??? You get a Lum Caramelldansen... LoL

Well if theres a SOS Brigade Caramelldansen like this SOS Then I think it would be ok to do the same to UY even if its not the same thing...

Now... If only I could find a Lum.gif with her dancing... XD

In my opinion, a TRUE caramelldansen needs to have that home made character factor. If one simply took a piece of and ending and looped it it would be like "Yeah... that's nice,"

That is easily within my experience to do.

There are TWO things that make the caramelldansen enjoyable:

1. The song
2. The caramelldanCERS in that exact format. Otherwise, it's just like any other AMV.

Do you get what I'm trying to go for? I never said it would be easy, but that makes it all the more enjoyable to watch when it gets done.

But getting the "caramelldanCERS in that exact format" is going to be hard... at least if its for UY...

I don't think it's a reference to UY... not just because they have green hair at least (no horns even).

And yeah it's going to be hard to find models to make it, since I've never seen Lum or Ataru do a face like that ever...

Maybe you could try doing something different with clips of UY. My fave caramelldansen video is much better then two characters just swinging hips in my opinion.

Considering this song isn't even from an anime, it sure is getting a lot of attention from it. o.0

I don't agree: we could find something of similar into the episode "school party", where Ataru and Lamù are dancing face to face and side by side.

To do a true Caramelldansen, we can't use clips from an episode.

We need someone who can at the very least DRAW the character(s). I would be able to colour them in and sync them to dance if I get the needed poses.

Unless someone volunteers, I guess I can go scan the 3 or 5 poses for a reference and try to use that as a template for making our own characters
