Again I have added a new Image Gallery called "Urusei Yatsura Wallpapers". It contains 24 wallpapers at this moment in two resolutions: 800x600 pixels and 1024x768 pixels. Some of them are made by visitors of the Forums and some have been found all around the Internet.

Added a whole bunch of Urusei Yatsura Sites. Some of them are gallery-only and others are a more complete overview of this series. Thwo new lists have been added: Fan Fiction sites and Review sites. I tried to split these so the overview would be a bit better. There are more links to come because I'm not done yet.

The links to the Urusei Yatsura Sites has been checked for broken links. I'm now collecting new links to other Urusei Yatsura*Lum sites and these will be added as soon as possibble.

I just have added a chat option to the forum. It's java-based and doesn't eat much of ypur system-resources :) To use the chat-option in the forum, you have to be a member. There's no other option unless you can login with your iRC client.
Channel name is #Urusei_Yatsura_Lum @ irc.everywherechat.com:6667. This way we can talk to each other and share our Urusei Yatsura Experience.

I made a small update to the menu's in the main-site and added a new subsection. Actually, I split the "Picture Gallery" in two. The list was getting quite long, so decided to part them. There is some more room to add more galleries in the future.
After finishing that up, I updated the "Comic Cover Gallery 1" with some new covers and I added a new "Comic Cover Gallery 2" Section with brand new covers I've found the past years. I have some more laying around and I'm planning these for the upcoming weeks.
The last time I updated the menu I made a stupid boo boo and missed in most of the menus the "Info on Otaku" section. This has been fixed today.
Currently I'm updating/correcting/cleaning-up the html code on all the galleries. Some old code has been found and needs to be removed; this will somehow speed-up the site a bit.
Unfortunate, I haven't finished checking all the links in the "Sorted Links" section yet. I'll try to finish this just before the year end. Gomen!

I decided to remove all sorted links from the site. As I don't have *that* much spare time, I dropped all but the "Urusei Yatsura Links" to keep life a bit easier for me on maintaining this site.

New galleries have been added to the site! Two new Fan Art Galleries for your enjoyment. I've found these on the Net a few years ago but I didn't have any acces back then to upload them. Now it's time to upload much more and this is just the beginning!

I have added a new section, not that new but I have split the "Anime & Manga Info" and moved all 'Otaku' related items to their own menu-section. This makes it a bit easier to find certain otaku facts.

I have updated the 1st Lum Fan-Art Gallery (1) with some new images which weren't uploaded before.
Made some small typo's in "Lum Fan Art 3". All popups for the images are now working again :)

I have added some kind of quiz to test if you are more or less an Otaku.
It works on counting points and adding and removing them while working your way downwards the list. This new addition can be found in the "Anime & Manga Info" section at the top of the menu list. Hope you like it!

Two new galleries have been added to the Picture Gallery: Telephonecards 1 and Telephonecards 2.
New icons on the top-menu and the main-menu on both the main-site and the forum have been changed to a better fitting theme :)

Changed some minor thingies and added some new options to the Forum:
1. Last post icon/link for each topic to jump to the last post added.
2. Changed some .php code to enable certain (background) options.
3. Updated some files of the Forum. It's a bit faster now.

Some changes to the Site (Mainly link-code):
1. Links on the mainpage are now ok. The old way of linking made the forum look stupid in MSIE. No more horizontal scrollbars anymore. FireFox didn't have this problem.
2. Some small experiments in the Picture Gallery on opening a new window for each image. If clicking on another thumbnail the window would kill itself and open a new one for the requested image to show.

Site Design Update has been finished today, Phew! It took almost a complete week to redesign the site to make it match with the already finished forum. My thanks go to A.M.A. for providing such a lovely Theme for the forum and I used pieces of his code to redo the mainsite. The overall results look very promising. There may be some mispellings hidden somewhere but I'm checking them in the upcoming days.
After this has been finished, I have some new movies to add to the Movies section. My thanks go to Pac for telling me about these movies. Yes! Credits where credits are due!

The forum looks quite populated at this time, but not all old regulars have joined yet (sniff). I hope this will change as time passes by.
Remember: Registering to the forum is totally free, so feel free to join!

Oh, for those who like to help me out: If you find any strange thingies in the site itself (not the forum) please let me know. I have tested the layout with both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. On both browsers the site looks good. If you are willing to check the site with Opera or another alternative browser, please feel free to do so. Tell me if it's looks right or wrong and which browser and version you use.

After in total 8 hours of work on this version of the forum, I'm damn proud to announce the following:

The Forum of Urusei Yatsura's Lum is officially On-Line @ http://forum.lum-chan.com/.
There are some small thingies which need to be changed and/or adaped but thats not a high priority at this moment. The old forum will stay online for a few weeks but won't be linked anymore and the links on this site @ http://www.lum-chan.com will be changed in a few hours. A public notice on all sub-domains of lum-chan.com will be made so everyone who visits the main site will be informed of this update/change.
I hope you like the new forum!

Due to some stupid coding actions programmed on the hosting provider of our forum, MSIE decides to gratefully mess up the way pages are displayed in IE. To prevent this from happening again, please locate your HOSTS file (Windows Machines) and add the line below:

127.0.0.1 ads.tripod.lycos.nl

This line redirects spyware/tracker-cookies to /dev/null
Or, and this is fully your own choice, install Mozilla Suite or Mozilla FireFox. Other great browsers are Opera and Netscape.

As soon as I have migrated the forum to a new add-free place I'll let you know asap. In the meantime, with this small addon for your HOSTS file (Windows) you can reach the forums again.
If you are on *nix I guess it's somehow on the same file, but I'm not sure.

If you have a linux router such as Freesco it's quite easy. Locate the file dns.cfg and add this line. restart the dns service and away you go :)

I am currently busy to check all the links of the links sections. Unfortunate many sites have been removed due to the actions of AngelFile and GeoCities. If you happen to have a site on these hosters and you want to have your site listed again, please leave me an email with all the needed info like Sitename, URL and a short description of the site. I'll check the site and add it to the right page with a new marker just besides it!

There are only 5 pages left to check wich will be done in the next 2 days: The 5 Alphabethical arranged links pages. All other pages have been checked for 404's and such. Sites which have been moved are corrected whenever possible and others which were unreachable have been removed from the pages.

Made some small flaws in de code for some images in the galleries: Have been fixed. If everything is ok now, there shouldn't be any broken images anymore *keeps fingers crossed*

Update! Me Bad! Me Bad! Me Bad! I didn't know this but the person who gave me this lum-chan@fsf-clan.com email-address did remove this account some monthts ago without noticing me :( Normally, this wouldn't be such a issue, but the main-problem was this: All the forms used on the links pages were using the email-address mentioned above... AAARRRGGGHHHHH!
I have changed the email-address to reflect the new one but I'm afraid most of the requests to add a link of your site to my links-pages have been sent to /dev/null.
Too bad indeed, but I have fixed this now. I'm very sorry for this but I cannot undo this problem. However, please feel free to (re)submit your page/site again so I can give it a visit and add it to the right links page.

All the image galleries have been updated. Everytime you click on a thumbnail, the image will be shown in a new window.
At this moment I'm working on some minor flaws in some sections all through the site.

As soon as I have finished this part, the links section will get a massive update. As you probably might have noticed, many, many links are broken. Some sites have been taken off-line or have been moved to a new location. I'll do my best to get those links a bit re-arranged but I'm not sure on the looks of this section. I'm considering a redo of all those pages.

Under the hood there have been made some changes to make the site a bit faster. Directories have been moved or removed and lots of html-code has been updated to reflect the changes.

I don't know exaclty when, but if everything is going well, Lum's Banner Exchange (LBE) will be back online again. The same goes for the online voting for your favourite UY MP3 Song each month, in earlier times this was every week.

The forum will remain on the same location (at Lycos.nl) because I don't have PHP and MySQL available on the server. Maybe that will change when time comes.

As soon as there are more updates, I'll inform you about them on this page.

At last I've been able to FTP to the server again. This will mean some new updates are in the pipe again and will be applied to the site asap.

We did have some troubles uploading to the webserver today. As a result of this the index page and the What's New page became blanco. After mailing with the server administrator it was quite clear: Our site is using over 550 MB of webspace. Jonathan was very kind by upping our diskquota to 600 MB.

Now we are thinking of changing/removing parts of the site to get thingies a bit smaller but we're not quite sure how to do this.

Today (January 17th 2005) I've been able to convert Matthew Sweet's I've been waiting to a decent format and sized AVI. It's quite large and is approx. 29 MB in size :). Due to many, many requests on both forum and email, I've decided to get some work done and converted the complete video clip featuring our beloved Lum-chan.
Check out "Download Goodies" -> "Urusei Yatsura Movies" for this great new addition to the movies section.
