Hi Lum-a-Holics!

As you might have noticed today some things have been changed.

First, we now support https and all normal http connections will now automatically redirected to https connections to the site. We are now a lot more secure and support now sha-256 encryption.

Second, many paths on resources of the site have been moved around to make https possible. http://forum.lum-chan.com now redirects straight to https://www.lum-chan.com. If you have a website linking to us, please update your links.

You might need to clear your browser-cache and in some cases you need to logout and login again. This depends on the used browser.

Due to many, many changes, some thingies such as images or iframes might not work but I'm working on that and I hope to get everything up-and-running before Christmas Eve. Please bear with me until then.

Unfortunate, I was forced to blacklist several providers in Bangladesh and Pakistan for not responding on my detailed complains about spammers using their services and servers for nothing more than spamming around. As I'm getting sick and tired of these kind of people and their useless spam-efforts, I decided to completely block their complete range(s) of ip-addresses to prevent any spam. Too bad for those who are not at fault, but it's getting worse by the week. I'll be scanning to serverlogs on a regularly basis to check if those bastards are still being blocked. To be continued...

Just a few minutes, ago I contacted my current hosting-provider. As we are running our website on an old and obsolete hosting-platform, we are proud to announce we will be migrated to the newest hosting-platform. This means the following: Faster and better performance and, hopefully, no more capacity-problems. The available web-space will be upgraded as well and this gives us the possibilities for new additions for all us lum-a-holics ;)
This major upgrade and migration will be around the 25th of June 2013. Just a few weeks to wait ;D
I hope this new migration will solve all these problems we have experienced the last months...

Aargh! I've made some very BIG mistakes way back in 2010. When I was updating the website (back then) I forgot to re-add the 'Andalucian TV' and the 'US TV' Galleries. They both were always online but never linked to be available you.

As I checked those two galleries, I updated all the html code and removed old/obsolete code. While I was at this, I did the same for all other Galleries which are online now. The remaining code is much faster now.

As of now, those two 'missing' galleries have been re-added and are all now available to you guys & galls!

After a little check I discovered more pages which had the same problem. Maybe it has something to do with the last Portal Software update. Currently, I'm fixing all these pages. I'll keep you posted...

Updated the three Search-engines on our site... We didn't update them the last time when we were activating the CGI's and PL's again... So now this is working great again!

A few days ago we started to move and reconfigure all of our CGI's. This due to the shutdown of our old server within a couple of days. We are now testing all of the old cgi's which were working when we were hosting our page at http://www.lum.hastec.nl/ . When we moved to Xoom.com we had to disable a couple of our cgi's to keep the guys at Xoom.com happy. But now we have our own machine again at our new location at http://www.lum-chan.com/ which allows us to use our cgi's again.
We hope we can continue our site as long as possible, and we have faith in the new server and it's administrator. Thanks, many thanks go to Jonathan, for providing us with enough disc-space to host our site on your machine!

We don't know if everything keeps running correctly, but if you have trouble with any cgi, please let us know and we will try to fix the problem as soon as possible...

We did some minor updates on several pages. The biggest one was the complete redo of the LBE. All scripts have been replaced with new scripts and some to those were changed to reflect all the images used before. As we have tested it quite well, we expect no problems when you certify your account... If there should arise any problems, please do not hesitate to email us about this. Of course you can email us if you find any problems of difficulties on our site as well...

We are now working on a new navigation-menu on the frames version... We will put it online as soon as it's ready and working correctly...

Due to a very busy work-schedule we couldn't update the MP3 Voting Section that often. But today we have fixed this again. Sadly for some of you it's again Lum no Love Song... We know and received many requests for others but they all were duplicate so they counted just as one vote. Ai wa Boomerang just lost with one vote from Lum no Love Song. Rock the Planet didn't make it to the top... It didn't have received enough votes to win this time, well... maybe next time.

Please let us explain again: You can only vote once. Asking over and over for a certain song just wont work. If we should listen to some of you the whole voting section should be quite useless and it wouldn't be fair to those who actually voted once... As good as we whished for the success of this section, we can't put all 42 songs online, this would cause the server to slow down too much... So that's why we have created this section... just to give anybody a change to listen to their favorite UY song... It's all up to you... Success!

Since a couple of days we are in the progress of taking over http://www.uymail.com Due to this we have updated our main page and added a new link to this service in our main menu and no-frames-menu. We are now working on a new domain-name at InterNic and as soon as we have our new domain we will announce it here. As far as we can see now it will be http://www.uylum.com but this is still something we are thinking of. We have more options and choices for our new domain-name but it's quite difficult to choose a good one. If you have suggestions, please let us know.

We have added a new service to our site. This time it's Lum's Chat Box. It is a quite simple box but it works quite fast. You don't have to download and install software. Just point to it and chat with other Lum * Urusei Yatsura Fans!

Again we made some changes to our layout. Almost all Graphical Links have been replaced with Text Links. This is to reduce the traffic load on the server and to speed up the loading of several pages. We received reports from several (a lot!) visitors the loading was very slow on these pages, so we removed them...
It gave us a change to update the site al along and add some new things 'n' stuff to the site. New updates are coming up next week. We have taken some time off to work on the site to make it even better than before. Updating the menu in the frames version took us almost the whole evening. As we redesigned the menu a couple of months ago, we discovered that it had too much levels to reach certain items. So we redid it again and made it a bit nicer to navigate. The only thing we have removed is the Background music Section. Its is still online. If you want us to put it active again, please let us know. Only one BGM is available now. It can be turned of or paused and you can control the volume...

A few days ago we decided to change some of the used colours on our web site. So we got ourselves a new background image and re-created the headers and all the clickable images throughout the whole site. This took us almost three days but today we have uploaded all the new images to our site. We even fixed some minor bugs in the code and added dimensions to some images which were forgotten the last time (sigh).
Now we are working on a new layout with these new colours, but this will take lots of our time, so we hope to finish this before the summer starts... Also, in our future planning we want to add new image galleries and some new goodies, but this will be done in between the large updates. So check this section as you pay our site a visit, because all the new stuff will be announced here and in our mailing-list. Well... for now this is one of the updates done so far but there are more to come, so keep your eyes wide open ^_^

YES! YES! YES! We did it again! Since a few minutes ago we have put our promise into reality.
The MP3 Voting section has been put on-line. Now you can vote for your favorite UY song. You can choose from 42 songs your fav one. At the end of the week, mostly at Friday, we will put the most fav mp3 of UY online at a secret location. This location will change every time we update the votes. We hope this will make you a lot happier and keeps the traffic a bit low.
As you are reading this, there are not that much votes received at the moment but we hope to put the first song on-line this Friday, so keep those votes coming!

Today we redid the entrance page and some sub pages. All of the banners which were shown on the mainpage were moved to the sub pages to create a much nicer entrance to the site with less graphics beside a main logo and a ever changing image of our goddess Lum!
We tried to give the pages a bit faster loading time and moved the banners to the end of the page. We made some corrections to typo's and corrected an outdated link.
If you feel we made some kind of a mistake on the edited pages feel free to tell us about it. We'd like to keep the site as nice as we intended it to be, but sometimes things won't work out as they should be ^_^.
As you are reading this we are working on some new additions to the site which includes a brand new image gallery, some fan fiction from other people and much more. Keep your eyes peeled on this page for more news!

This night we have added a new section to the Lum's Banner Exchange. Now all the active members will be shown in a new list. This gives you a nice overview of all the current members to the LBE. We updated all the banner exchange codes of IZCER1 so that there are no more broken banner links... It caused some trouble but it's all working again... YAY! Future plans are to add a new section called 'Urusei Yatsura Fan Fiction'. We have received 1 fanfic until now, but we would like to have more of these fine stories. The only restriction is: No Hentai stories. Young people are visiting our site too, you know... So keep them coming and we will open this section as soon as possible

This night we have moved the complete site to our new URl at http://members.xoom.com/lum_chan303/ .
Only a few images and html-files will reside on the old server but 99 percent of the files have been moved to the new location. We are now working on the redirection of all visitors to the new location so this can take some time. We hope to have this fixed within an hour so you can enjoy visiting our site at the new location, even if you tried to visit our old location at http://www.lum.hastec.nl/ .

We hope this will speed up the whole site a bit. The old server will stay online to serve the scripts and cgi's running for our site and some of the images which have been linked to. This includes The Lum Banner Exchange, The Lum-chan Webring and Lum's New Guest book. All other files will be deleted withing a hour or so. If you have links any other page on our site you will be redirected to the new main-url. If you have linked to any other image beside those mentioned above, they have been moved, but you can't link to them due to the system-setup of Xoom.Com. I'm sorry, but you have to download them from our new URL and upload them to your own server... I can't change this so if you have any complaints about this please feel free to email the guys at Xoom.com about this...

Well this was quite a long story, but this was also a great operation to move to the new location, It took us almost 12 days to upload all of the files to Xoom.Com and rewrite most of the pages to reflect the new location too... Phew!
We need another one or two week to send all sites, which have linked to us, a email with the new url of our site and to update all search engines we have used to pay attention to our site... This will take almost all our spare time (which is very delicate.. sigh...).

We hope you will enjoy your visit to our new location with the same site-name from now on even better, because for some of you it has been a slow site but that has been improved now.... For those with normal 28k8/36k6/56k/ISDN modems, there will be a slight speed improvement, but for those with faster lines such as a T1/T2/T3 line will see the new fast speed to explore our site.

Sorry guys and galls for the very long delay on this update... As I have not that much time anymore and due to a lost internet-connection, I wasn't able to update a often as I wanted to... Sorry about the non-working scripts. As the server is being reconstructed, I'm not capable to run these scripts at the moment. Most of them are not on the server anymore and due to a local system-crash of my own machine, I lost all my backups before I could burn them on a CR-RW... Bad things happen... even to me!!!
Anyway, I'm back to update the site again, but it will be more of a cosmetic one. This could take a lot of time so updates won't be that regularly as they used to be :(

Our lame excusess for the messy updating but due to some networking trouble we haven't beeen able to update as much as we wanted to. Please bear with us as we are fixing several things together with our ISP.

Finally, another little update. We have updated the MP3 Voting section. A new song called Good Luck has been put on-line. We are aware we don't update that often as we used to be, but we are having some technical difficulties to get connected to the net and try to update the site. As we have a good connection for two days now we will try to catch up on all the pending updates. First we have removed the music part in the site. We decided to remove this to speedup the site a bit. In the near future we will put all used .MID's on-line in a separate page on the site, so you can download each one of them if you like to ^_^
Further changes are some minor typos but we were told there are a lot more, so we might need your help. We know there are so many pages on our site and the spell-checker of HomeSite isn't that accurate (sigh) So if you happen to find one please let us know on which page and which word. As we live in The Netherlands, our knowlege of the English/American Language isn't that good, so we can make typos easily... Thanks in advance for your help...

As we are writing this we are almost five (5) years online and have used three or four locations. So we are thinking of a complete redo to be placed online in the month we are online for 5 years (November 2000). You won't be able to notice anything on the site about this, but we are working already on this on one of the local machines used to update the site and create new graphics and stuff... I suggest you to have some patience and wait until November 2000 ^_^

Finally we have changed some menu's and some small errors on several pages! The Episode Guide and the TV/Video/OAV sections have been changed to give it a bit of the same look like The Urusei Yatsura's Lum Forum, including a extra menu to navigate through these two sections much easier. We have updated not much lately so this will be one of the first real updates for this year.

As you might have noticed, the MP3 Voting Section has been changed. This due to an incorrect working external script. We are still working on this, but maybe we may need some help... We will let you know if this is needed or not... Until we have fixed this, we will try to update the MP3 Voting section ourselves without any voting. This will be started next Tuesday (February 29th 2000) and will continue until we have found a good and well working solution.

Updating most of the pages for faster loading. I made a stupid 'boo boo' and had to fix this *slaps myself in the face*.
I removed all those annoying gold and black balls in front of the links and such to create a much faster loading page and give the site a more uniform look. I didn't like those balls not that much anymore :( and I found lots of small errors all over the place. I'm trying to get these all fixed asap.


To Do:
1. Picture gallery needs a redo (have changed a lot but not uploaded yet)
2. Link-check in the links section to get rid of those 404's (just started checking)
3. Small fixes on the code to get the last artifacts to leave the site ^_^ (almost finished)
4. New things to add (not that easy but have some new things received)
5. Get myself a new 'working' poll for the mp3 voting section (must be based on php with MySql)

I reworked some pages and changed the menu's to reflect the changes. Nothing special has been added except for a small page on the history of our site. As I'm still working on thingies on the site there will be some more updates coming the next two weeks startimg from today. Planned things are a change in how the galleries and their content will be shown to you, the UY fan.
As this might deliver some technical troubles on my side of the story, this could take some time to re-design that part of the site to get everything working as it should be.

Anyone who has some suggestions or ideas regarding the site, postit on the board in the right forum or just send me an email.

I made some cosmetic changes to the site. As I'm working on the design of the site I'm working from time to time to get something done. Have fixed several small thingies and updated some pages which were reflecting wrong things.
The forums have been fully implemented Within the site ie. no new window when clicking on the forums link ^_^. I had to change some code on suggestion of the guys over @ support from phpBB.
I'm working on some changes on the picture galleries but I need some more time for this as it's a very difficult task to find a good solution to get this working as it should be :)

The MP3 Voting section is back online. Things have been changed abit and it's all running in the Forums. An extra link is available from the mainmenu on the site.

Updated the Download Goodies today. As I'm planning for a massive update on this section, I decided to change this section a bit. Every sort of download has now it's own page which makes it a lot easier on you to choose where to go for your taste of goodies ^_^ Sounds and looks nice, huh?
Hmm, checked the directory structure and guess what? The directories were indexed two years ago whith this update in mind but it did take faaaaar too long to finally update it *me electrofies me*.

Anywayz, have phun and keep your eyes peeled on this section, I'm now working on the video from Matthew Sweet with Lum :D

Good news! The forums seem to be running quite right at them moment so I made them fully available to the public. I'm working one some extra forums with a specific theme whitin the site, but I'm nit sure if this gets ready just before the weekend... Hold on tight!
Updated the site-menu a bit. The forums are now opened in a new window. This has been changed to prevent the forum window to take over the whole site. I guessed this would be nicer to those who don't want to lose their location on the site (at least I don't want to get lost ^_^ ).
I'm now working on those pesky link pages... They all need to be checked for broken links and moves pages :( Please bear with me while I'm fixing this.
I'm very sorry for all tose people who mailed me the past 15 months but didn't get any response. I'm trying to get through my site-mail as fast as possible and try to answer the messages as good as I can.

We have a lightly different theme for the site now. Things have been quite difficult to update so I decided to change things a bit. So the design is overal the same but headers and such have been replaced by plain text and border to get the pageload a bit lower on the server :)
I hope you will like this look a bit better than the previous one. I'm still not finished with it but you'll notice it when we upload some new thingies.
If you see something wrong please let me know in the new forum, It's not that fast atm but I'm working on that too. I hope I can get PHP and MySql on this server too, so I can migrate the whole thing to this location too :)

After a very long hiatus on `The World of Urusei Yatsura's Lum`, I'm back again. First some good news! The forums are back. Unforunate I had to repost all your posts by hand so my fingers and my mouse are sore now :) As it's not completely ready yet, yet I decided to put the forum online to get you a bit started.

Special message for those fine RPG story writers. All your posts have been restored online and kan be viewed and added to again :D
I had lot's of fun while reading and doing copy and paste all your posts. Very many thanks to Parias, Jocko, bladeofkintaro and all those other great writers. Again, Thank you very much indeed!!!

Some small thing will be updated during the next weeks/months to give the site a bit of a brand new and fresh look.

Again, I'm very sorry for the fact I couldn't update for such a long time, but I wanted to let you all know this: The World of Urusei Yatsura's Lum is still alive and kicking. I hope to add new things to the site and make it a nice place to be again.

For those who come by from time to time, I'd like to say thank you for being such good visitors eventho there weren't any updates and changes for such a long time.
