here is the fanart of Lum i did, that a friend online requested me to do. I know i blew her up a bit but i think her chubby plumpness makes her cute, honestly i know its not 100 percent true to the series but its just a take on the design. i guess i just have a thing for thick chicks. what do you the fans of Lum think? "down with plump voluptuous lum!" or awesome? i think she was over due to pack on a couple pounds here and there. heheh. >:) :9 :> :@ I heart big lum.

I just was curious what Lum fans thought of this, i know most guys dislike the big ladies but i tried to bring out some of the cuteness i guess i see in them and still stay true to the fanart, hope you like. but if it really grinds you in a not lemme know with ur vote.

Here's my honest opinion:
Don't you ever do something like that. It's a disgrace. Lum is NOT suppose to be fat, and I'm sure that if you can draw this, then you can draw some cool pics everyone will like.
(This is just my opinion, so wait for the other members to vote before taking a conclusion).

Perhaps the reason why the fox pic was easier to look at is because the fox didn't even look like Lum and thus wouldn't be considered offensive by Lum fans.

unfortunately Necron's pics were too late, thank goodness i GAM save to favourites, i went straight to the site and looked at every fanart on the site, i am back full health and i have seen every piece of art on the site and stored some of my favourites :)

heheh, maybe, but i'd rather do 20 more plump lums before that. i dont think she needs to be slim to be attractive mate, but seeing how angry i made everyone, (which is fine since ur being honest) i might try doing the traditional lum.

By the way, the fanart that kuririndaimao is no where as disturbing as the photo I found on www.webshots.com of a fat bearded, bespectacled man cosplaying as Lum (at least, I think he was cosplaying as Lum; the photo was labeled as "Lum" if I remember correctly). XD

The screencap I posted has nothing to do with the fox episode I was talking about. It's a screencap of a scene from Coonskin, an animated film by Ralph Bakshi that depicts life in 1970's Harlem. It's sort of a twisted version of the B'rer Rabbit story set in 1970's Harlem. I just felt like posting it. :)

i have an idea, we find both the fat lum and the fox lum insulting to lum's image, but the reason no one is complain as much about the fox lum is that it does look like lum that much, it is so different from lum that it can almost be considered another character, but this fat lum is a mutilated version of lum, the fat we can look at the pic and say it is lum faster than we can say it about the fox lum is the reason why we are complaining so much

I'd definitely choose the authentic Lum. I don't hate Fox Lum, but I'd choose Asuka or Ran before I'd choose Fox Lum (even though it's still really Lum). It's just that I prefer (girly) humanoids... :)
Since we're on the topic of Lum versions, the Lum version I detest is "Cow" Lum (when Lum gets bitten by a cow and she believes she'll turn into a cow). Yuck!

I would be pissed off if that was Lum. But I have my doubts. That fox doesn't even look like her. It's just a fox with stripes and tiny feet. My theory is that that fox-girl modeled herself after Lum in order to attract male foxes, since male humans/oni are attracted to Lum.
Besides, after so many touching episodes like "After You've Gone", "Happy Birthday, My Darling!", "Parallel Worlds! Where is Darling?", and "Pitter Patter Christmas Eve", and movies such as "Only You" and "Beautiful Dreamer" (nearly all of which depicted Lum as a sympathetic character), do you really think they would have Lum become a fox?
Lum would never turn into a fox, even if she tried. :)

I have always felt that any discussion, art, or fan fic should stay in the spirit of the show--if it is not derived right from an episode. Stray too far, and we are making the characters fit our fantasy, rather than the fantasy grow from the characters.
Each may have their own private fantasies, but passion alone shouldn't substitute for the essential participation from the community--so deciding when those should be shared is always a challenge.

To the people who didn't like the OP's artwork: the artwork on the following website isn't as graphic as the OP's artwork. It's a little more cartoony. Plus, Lum isn't as fat in the pic. The only par of her that's fat is her belly.

In that episode, they ate a large pile of canned foods that they found in a chamber. Apparently, the food expanded inside the bodies of Ataru, Shinobu, and Mendo. Lum mentioned that human constitutions might not be used to the food. :D)
