I'm not sure if Chibi Lum would even know what a pervert is. She probably wouldn't be worried about the type of person she would grow up to marry, since she's still at a young age.
Lum doesn't seem to have changed much over the years. Although, she has matured, she still retains her innocence and carefree personality.

The pic of Lum wearing the towel was from the episode in which Ran tried to make cacti grow in place of Lum's horns. In the flashback, Lum and Ran were taking a bath in Ran's home. Lum added some sort of device that made suds form out of control until nearly the entire bathroom was filled with suds. Ran's mother, thinking that Ran was responsible, came in and gave her a spanking. Lum just stood by and was overcome with pity for Ran.

Now this is a scary (and cute) pic. She's got them crazy eyes.
Apparently, Lum switched bodies with a Dappya monster who happened to be in the room at the time (those little guys really know how to get around!). How did this happen? She zapped four earmuffs and somehow the earmuffs ended up on everyone's heads, even though there weren't enough earmuffs for everyone. There were eleven people in the room: Lum, Ataru, Shinobu, Megane, Ten, Cherry, Sakura, Mr. Moroboshi, Mrs. Moroboshi, a cat, and a Dappya monster. There were six earmuffs total.
Still, her personality doesn't seemed to have changed much...

I think you're referring to the end of "Lum's Film of Youth" when Ataru, Shinobu, and Mendo started to chase after the stormtroopers after they saw that all their footage had been removed from the final product. If I remember correctly, Lum was clueless as to what was going on. :D)

I remember that episode as I have seen it a little while ago. It's one of funniest in my list. I would do the same thing that Ataru, Mendou and Shinobu did if something like that would hapen to me like that. It's one of my favourites episodes. Sorry for the bad english.

Yup...Megane was all "I had to cut out one or two scenes..." and it turns out the film was a montage dedicated to Lum-san... He just used Mendo to fund the film and used the others as pawns to get Lum-san's reactions on film... Too bad Moroboshi couldn't convince Lum-san to do the nude scene... :P

I don't think Megane would ever consider killing Moroboshi, because if he did, Lum-san would be sad. Megane would rather suffer and hope that one day Lum-san would return his love. That's why in the "Catch the Heart" OVA, he made that big crazy speech and had a heart failure after Lum-san gave him a love letter and requested that he kiss her--his dream became reality--for a brief moment...
Although killing Moroboshi is out of the question, there's nothing that prevents Megane from punishing and torturing Moroboshi (and he often does)... ;D

The OVA "Catch the Heart" is so funny. Megane was SO dumb in this OVA...! I mean he had the chance to kiss Lum and what did he do? He passed out and when he woke up he made a hillarious speech and then... bye bye Lum.

Yeah, but the projector exploded! After all, Lum-san "fixed" the projector by banging on it with a mallet and jury-rigged the plug. Even Moroboshi was worried about the projector exploding and asked Lum-san three times about it, and sure enough, it exploded... ;D
Lum-san does seem to like tinkering around with technology, but more often than not, Lum-san doesn't get the end results she wants... :)

Yeah, Lum kept telling Ataru that he worried too much when he showed concern about the projector exploding.
I think the projector was supposed to explode, since it was designed to literally make the characters in the film come to life. But, yes, she rarely gets the end results she wants. This is especially true in the magical lipstick episode and the episode in which she takes care of Ran when she is ill.

In the episode where Lum enrolls at Tomobiki High School, Mr. Hanawa has her wear gym shorts under her uniform so that people won't see her underwear. Ironically, that was the only time we ever saw Lum wear gym shorts under her uniform.

I remember seeing some pictures from the manga of Lum wearing a tiger-striped jumpsuit identical to Rei's, but I couldn't imagine her wearing a jumpsuit without any type of undergarments underneath.

And when she said that it was only her outfit I believe that she meant to say that she had not more outfits with her in that right moment. And she continues the competition without a new outfit.

I think there was one occasion in which Lum actually called Ataru by his name. It was in the episode "Pitter Patter Summer Date". It's a very good episode. I highly recommend it to Lumaholics everywhere. :)

Mendou without the looks and the money looks like Ataru but he isn't. Ataru can be very persistent, sometimes he acts with his good heart (Nagisa's Episode, for example),... The only things that both are, are that they're pervs and love Lum. In the Balance of Love episode, they were the same because Ataru's heart had not changed yet. I think that he changed a lot from the first episode until the last one. And he changed because of Lum.

Here is a pic of Lum after she has softened and hidden her horns in response to a pair of comments (Ataru: "How can someone who can fly understand the feelings of those of us who must walk on the ground", Mendou: "Unlike those of us who soar above the mundane world, he no doubt prefers a girl as ordinary as himself").
She is successful beyond her wildest dreams - the sight of a beautiful, normal girl who appears to be concerned with him is quite overpowering. Ataru offers Lum to Mendou so that he can chase after this girl. This annoys Lum, and her horns start to grow. She manages to hide this long enough to extract a promise of eternal love from Ataru, at which point she reverts to her bikini-clad and horned self.
It is interesting to note that from this point, Lum starts to wear normal clothes on occasions. This clearly has an effect on Ataru - we are nearly at the point where Ataru's feelings for Lum start to become more obvious.

Well, there are a few episodes in which the men wear lipstick. The most disturbing case was in the Red Mantle episode. Ataru, Mendou, and Lum's Stormtroopers dressed in drag and wore makeup in a desperate attempt to dance with the women of their choice. They even went so far as to wear bras and panties underneath their dresses. Mendou looked like a slut. :r
Note: Luckily for Ataru, Lum never found out about this. However, he did end up dancing with Cherry that night...

I'm sure that Ataru and Mendo would love to play with Lum and her friends if given the opportunity. Mendo would probably be really bossy and start making proposals of marriage to all of them like he did in that one episode in which Ataru, Lum, Mendo, and Shinobu went back in time and tried to cure Mendo of his claustrophobia. Ataru, on the other hand, would probably be holding their hands whenever he had the chance like he did in the episode in which Lum went back in time and tried to cure Ataru of his lechery while he was a kid. :D)

Thank God, she didn't. If I remember correctly, she imagined Shinobu stealing Ataru away from her. That's highly unlikely however, since by that point in the series, Shinobu doesn't want to have anything to do with him.

I know. Most of those Disney heroines are all looks and no personality. They're completely one-dimensional. In fact, the only multi-dimensional Disney heroines I know of who have personalities are Eilonwy and Alice, the latter of which is just a kid (she's supposed to be 7, but she looks more like she's 12-years-old). None of the Disney heroines are comparable to Lum... At least Lum has a feisty, jealous side to balance her cheerful, carefree personality. She also knows how to kick ass. Just catch her a Setsubun match sometime. :D)
As far as Sailor Venus is concerned, I never was a fan of hers. Let's face it. Sailor Moon marked the beginning of an era in which in became fashionable for all anime character designs to be overexaggerated and grotesque.
I don't why the guy listed Poke'mon characters. None of them are particularly attractive...

It's not just that about the Disney "girls"...
To me they all loked different when I watched Disney movies (a LOOOOONG time ago), but now looking back, I think that if you grab one and put them in another of those movies (like putting Cinderella in Beauty and the Beast for example), the story would go the same way. They even look alike in most cases. :/
No girl could be placed in Lum's shoes that wouldn't change UY completely. Cheers to the one and only Lum. :B (It's Tecasian Ice Tea, don't be fooled. :P)

I know what you mean. It's something new and we won't get tired of the same thing over and over again. Just to give you an example, when I watch Animes like Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, etc I can't watch their transformations because it's the same thing over and over again. I think that changing the Anime's openings and endings is the way that Anime creators and other Anime-related people found to make people sit and watch the opening and ending and to not feel bored and the sensation "I already know what's going to happen" --' when watching the show.

Bah. Anyone who claims not to judge those of the sex they are attracted to by looks is a liar. If you didn't, you wouldn't even be able to talk about something like this. Just in some of the things you say, "some fat girls are cute", "some ugly girls have nice sexy bodies", what do you think that is? That's judging by looks. What people like that should say instead is that they don't mind unattractiveness. You can overlook ugly or fat or hideously mutilated because the personality is more important to you than looks. Or because you'll settle cause you don't have the confidence to do any better, it's all the same. Although I do have to add, different people are attracted to different things. Some girls like muscular men and others like scrawny guys. Some guys like skinny girls and some like the plus sized ones.
I'm not one of those types. I'm not afraid to admit that a girl has to look good to catch my eye in the first place and interest me enough to get to know her personality. Personally I think that if the girl's personality is ugly no amount of good looks can make up for it, and even the greatest personality is wasted if the girl can't catch my attention first. But people also call me picky.
But someone like me can get away with that. :)

I'd have to say that personality is very important to me.
She could be the most attractive girl in the world but unless her personality is close to what I'm looking for, I probably wouldn't go for her.
But if she's got the personality nailed down, she wouldn't have to be incredibly attractive.
To put it simpler, if there was a line going from personality and one from attractiveness, a girl wouldn't have much length to walk down the personality line compared to the attractiveness line before I rule her out.

Of course, like any other guy, I do have a "type" and to spoil a little bit, that type happens to include (single) pony tail. Why? I dunno, but I bet sidzero has some psychological explanation behind it.

Everyone rates people by its looks, whether these people are women or men. There are a few cute boys in my school but I don't feel anything special for them because their personality isn't as appealing as their looks. I used to like a guy that every girls find ugly and what catched my eye first was his personality (outgoing, funny, friendly, nice, etc) because when we first met I didn't give him special atention, I mean I looked at him just like I looked at everyone else. I hope you understand what I meant to say.
There's a girl that's hot (actually , in my school there's plenty of these xD) in my class and she's so... dumb. I'm serious she's very dumb and all she cares about is appearance and at first, I was like "wow she's pretty. *.* but after 5 minutes of conversation all the curiosity of knowing her better or whatever went away.
My friends introduced me to a couple of friends and the first thing I noticed was that one of them has a cute face, even though her body isn't the same as a model or whatever and after talking and laughing a bit, I realized she was so much more than a cute face and we're best friends now.
I guess with these examples from my life it's easy to see that personality is something that takes time to know but it's better than appearance, even though looks is what catches our eyes first.
Like if someone is like Quasimodo from Disney's Notre Dame I won't run away from him/her but if this person has a personality that to me is just stupid, then I would get away because I don't want to be brainwashed or something. =S
About types... I do have one type (actually I've two since I'm bi lol) but I consider people who don't fit any of my types if they have the type of personality I'm attracted to as "potential dates".

Think of it this way, imagine a pair of balanced scales. Personality represents one side, physical attraction on the other. People's tastes are simply a balancing of these scales, and the weights required for each side differ from one person to another. Some people need more on the looks side, some need more on the personality side, some could even work with one side or the other in absentia, but generally, the more balanced a person is suited to the other person's tastes, the better the match becomes. Also, in things such as this, there is no difference between men and women, gay, straight, or bi.
Yeah, don't ask me how, but somewhere along the line in my life I became an expert in human relationships.
Anyway, as far as your psychological reasons for your type, there may be, there may not be, I don't know enough about you to discern something like that, so I won't bother. But everyone has a type. I've explained before my opinions on sexual preferences, so I won't repeat that, but gender is also a part of what qualifies a person's type. Personally, my primary type is Japanese women. I'm sure someone will be thinking "don't you mean Asian women?" And I'll answer no. Yes, maybe I prefer Asian women to any other ethnicity, but the reason I like Japanese women is more on the personality side of the scale than the physical attractiveness side. Japanese cultural values are FAR more attractive to me than the cultural values of any other nationality.
I also have several secondary types. I won't list these out, but each of them involves a certain look (both physical and fashion) and a matching personality, based on my own prejudices to match the two. I guess the other part of what makes me picky is that I know specifically what my types are and I have trouble matching them to reality. But I don't compromise, so I don't try and find an "All in one" type. I simply go with my current primary type.
Actually, that's not really true, because I'm also greedy. One of my goals in life has to have a harem that consists of at least one girl of each of my types for at least the past decade and a half. Maybe that was why I fell in love with my ex fiance? She was one of my types (skinny pale goth girl who's shy until you get her alone and she turns into a total nympho), and she was more than supportive of me having a harem. Even to this day she's the only ex I think about positively... I should email her again sometime. I wonder if she's still modelling? Anyway, enough ranting from me. Those were good times.
PS: Oh yeah, dumb girls are a turn off too. Well, unless they're the barbie-doll bleach blonde and arrogant type who's a total airhead. I have no idea why I find that appealing. Every time I find one I end up just wanting to punch her in the face. Maybe I should just find one that acts that is actually really smart. That would make sense, if it was possible. Oh well...

Although I'm sure I'd like any asian girl, I would prefer Japanese cause... well to step away from physical appearance and personality to lead to a third category: Similar interests/ knowledge (ie for me, anime and knowing some Japanese language)

Indirectly, yes. After all, personality comes down to how well you can get along, and speaking the same language is pretty useful when it comes to communication.

As for the same tastes and similar personalities attracting each other, that's not always true.
Actually, the expression "the ooposites attract" comes from that. Many people have found love with someone who doesn't connect with them in terms of personality at all...
And as for rating on looks over personality first, I think that's quite natural. Remember humans are animals, and all animals have a mating method, in which the strongest/whatever male usually becomes the mate. But we're humans and a bit more complex, so we don't all have the same tastes, but we still need a way to evaluate a potencial mate, and that of course starts with what you see (which is instant) and only then goes on to what you know (which takes a lot longer).

Pigtails are alright, but I prefer longer hair to be left loose. Generally I agree with preferring long hair. But I like it to be a length where it can look good either up or down. If it's too long it looks bad up, especially if it's thick hair. Honestly, I put more importance in hair type (curly, straight, wavy, thin, thick, etc) than length, because hair can always be grown out or cut short. But I'm also the type of guy that agrees with the traditional Japanese ideal that the neckline and nape is one of the sexiest parts of a woman's body (the other sexiest parts being eyes, hips and, obviously, chest),

It's not that their personalities aren't connecting. It's just that their interests are not one in the same. You have to remember that no matter how perfect two people may be for each other, they're still different people, and are ultimately going to have some differences in interests. Generally when people are looking for someone they share interests with, they only want to match some of their interests. On top of that, even with similar interests, they bring different perspectives on those interests.

hmm, i have seen both movies and animes were the main protagonist end up fallin in love with his/her worst enemy^^ Time is also a factor when it's up to love someone, it can get better over time, or worse:D

That's pretty much what I was saying, wasn't it? Although, I don't know, I probably would date myself if I made a clone of the opposite gender. At least, it would be fun for a few nights, being as how if it was a female me, she would know all the things that turn me on. For some reason though, the scenario sounds like something out of a manga. I'll have to remember that idea for future reference. :)

You know, when I was in high school, I wanted to take German, but there weren't enough students to make up a full class, so they stuck me in Spanish instead. As copies of each other, you may both be shy, but there's also the fact that you know your interests enough to know how someone else could probably easily open up to you, right? If you're copies, you would also know how to talk to each other to overcome that shyness. At least that's what I'd think.

I thought about it, but it would be really hard to come up with a storyline about some guy and a female clone of himself. Trying to do a romance story with it might just be a little TOO controversial (but then again, this is coming from the guy who was planning a comic about an accidental terrorist who accidentally goes to terrorist heaven), and anything else the whole female clone thing would be completely irrelevant. I don't know, I just think it would be hard to pull off.
As far as RT's next series, the only thing anyone knows is that she said she wants it to be something boys will read, and that it's going to debut this spring. I, for one, am looking forward to it. I just hope it's not going to be another Inuyasha. Personally, I'd like to see her do some kinda sci-fi thing like UY was.

New here. Have to say Only person I like as much as Ataru is Lum. There's something about how just innocent she can be that appeals to me as a character. I also like that she has no qualms when it comes to going to great lengths to get what she wants out of her Darling. Doesn't hurt that she goes through development too.

Well, of course it's Lum. She's not just cute and sexy (there are plenty of cute, sexy girls in UY) but she's sweet, loving and devoted. How can anyone not like her? Even Ataru's parents like her, and AMAZINGLY raise absolutely no objection to Lum living in Ataru's room in their house!! Although there are times when I wonder if that has less to do with them liking Lum than with not caring anything at all about their son in the least (Mrs. Moroboshi: "Oh, how I wish I'd never had him!").
Everyone wonders why Lum so completely and obsessively attached herself to Ataru, and I have to think it's because she's an Oni. Oni are supposed to be kind of like 'bad karma demons', so it's Ataru's own bad karma that attracts her like a magnet. And indeed, complications ensue due to all of Lum's friends that cause trouble for Ataru, so it's the wheel of karma -- "what goes around, comes around" or to put it in Judeo-Christian terms "as you sow, so shall you reap". Spread bad karma and it will return to bite you in the butt.
Yet Lum herself is the best thing that ever happened to Ataru, even though he doesn't realize it (or at least refuses to admit it to himself). Everyone else knows it immediately though, and is envious of Ataru's status in Lum's eyes. Especially Mendou and the so-called "Stormtroopers", led by Megane. They all have a keen appreciation of Lum, and a consequent resentment of Ataru for having the undeserved good luck to be the object of Lum's affection.
