I have my reasons for choosing Perm and Megane for favorite characters. My friend is psychic. She thought she and I would look like cute couples if we were with Perm and Megane. She then orders UY movie #4: Lum the forever and points out the two girls Megane and Perm like look similar to us! Neither one of us knew about this. If you know where I can find pictures from Lum the forever or of Perm and Megane, please tell me. I would apprieciate it!

I think Megane is funniest when he's at his most overemotional, such as in the "Catch the Heart" O.A.V. where he runs up to the top of the clock tower of the school upon thinking Lum wants to kiss him, and announces his feelings very dramatically. As far as female characters go, aside from Lum, my favorites are Benten, because of the attitude, the metal bikini, and the jetbike, and Sakura because, to a large extent, she represents the mystical, paranormal side of Urusei Yatsura. I also love her voice in the anime series and movies.

Hi Megumi-chan!Yep I finally made it here! Perm is such a babe in "Lum the Forever" there are some scenes where they make him look so BUFF!!!! But Megane is like the main character in that movie and my poor Permie is not shown enough! I really wish there were more dubbed UY movies. Mike Walters-Perm's english voice, is so MANLY!!!! I also thought it was adorable in the T.V. episode "Fly Imo-chan" where he's holding the two bunnies in the beginning! if only He and Megane were real! Then again, that may not be such a good idea! I am predicting that my darling Perm will be the supporting character in movie #5(Final Chapter). Perm should win a "Best anime hairdo award" for that gorgeous wave on top of his forehead!! So delicate and puffy! Does he have freckles in the anime? I don't think he does, but hey! He'd be a lot sexier WITH freckles, don't ya think?! On the other hand, Megane is smart just like you and you both find Ataru annoying and if he tried to beat up Perm for singing to me you'd stop him & he'd bow at your feet!! What a nice thought! I better stop now. Luv U lots!!!!!!!!!!

I think perm looks weird just look at his face his nose is all messed up. But Akane La Porte (my cousin) thinks he's cute, YUCK! But how should I know I'm a moron I take after my cousin. And she will beat me well after she sees this. So I better go and get her before she can get me yeah right I know karate see ya!!!!!

Favorite Female Character: A tie between Sakura and Benten. Sakura is a mixture of traditional shrine priestess and modern single woman...sexy, elegant, and mysterious and yet prone to comic situations either reacting to Ataru's lecherousness, enduring backfiring mystical events, or even partaking in physical pratfalls at times. Benten is cool in attitude, appearance and cute voice (the same voice actress as Akemi on Maison Ikkoku).
Favorite Male Characters: Mendou and collectively the Gang of Four (Megane, Perm, Chibi, and Kakugari). Mendou, for all of his charm and wealth, still can't win over Lum. Hearing him raise his voice in frustration in losing out to Ataru or in fear when he is in the dark is hilarious. The Gang of Four is often neglected when the UY show is discussed but I can identify with them chasing after a girl that they know deep down they can't have. Megane is funny when he over-reacts...the intellectual leader of the 4 although his passion for Lum clouds his judgment big time. Perm seems more rational of the 4 although his passion for Lum can get the better of him at times. Kakugari is a bit of a blank slate like Larry of the 3 Stooges but a physical contrast to sawed-off Chibi, who has a rather funny voice (the same voice actor as Godai on Maison Ikkoku).

Megane and Perm are definitely the two cool guys from the Gang of Four. Megane is really funny, when he gets too worked up about stuff, like in the Miss Snow Queen episode, when he goes through the dialogue between Ataru and Lum at the ski lodge. Classic...

Ah, it's nice to see some defenders of the Stormtroopers!
Personally, I do like Megane--clearly he is passionate about defending Lum from any slight or harm. More important though, he's _devoted_ to this cause knowing that he cannot have her.
(Does he see himself as a referee against Ataru??)
It's pretty clear that Rumiko Takahashi had kind of a theme going here--since one of our Divine Lum's endearing qualities is her devotion (however misguided).
Isn't it interesting that Takahashi-sensei decided to end Final Battle with Ataru redeeming himself by exhibiting (finally) true devotion to Lum by keeping her horns?

I think megane is kind of a crazy guy... perm is a very calm character
chibi is my favourite from the Lum's Stormtroopers.
But I prefer Ataru keeps Lum.
I hope Megane and the others find his own "Lum"

The Stormtroopers are too philosophical to have or find a real love... at least Megane... Because I think Perm was popular with the girls... LoL at least more than the rest of the Stormtroopers... ;D
