My favorite scene is the ending to "Final Chapter" Movie #5...I won't give it away but Lum's reaction to Ataru at the roof of Tomobiki High packs an emotional wallop, no matter how many times I see it.

Mine is Mujaki's first meeting Lum in Beautiful Dreamer, everything was perfect...the background, music, and dialogue. All works of genius.

One of mine has to be in the episode "The Groom's Name is Ryunosuke" (sex-change cannon episode) where Mrs. Moroboshi walks into Ataru's room when he is taking off his shirt. The looks on their faces are absolutely hilarious!

Mine would have to be the tv episode "The Fire-Fightin' Mama Arrives!" in which Ten's mom bursts into the Tomobiki High lunch room on her hoverbike, flooding it with water and sending the students flying. Megane's facial expression is pure comedy.

I really liked the Harrier jet scene in "Beautiful
Dreamer". There's a wonderful orchestral score running through that scene that builds and hits it's peak just as the giant stone statue of Cherry is revealed holding up the town. A great mix of surrealism and comedy.

It's hard for me to choose, since 1)it's 4 in the momrning, 2)spent 3 hours working on a new opening UY page graphic, and 3)there are so many great moments. I guess that, on analysis, the scene at the end of movie 5, after Ataru has dropped Lum,'s horns, the music is so touching, and just the characters expressions, even the sunset is enough to say, that these two belong together.

Its hard for me to decide (I can only take into account the first 7 TV episodes, and all 6 movies as I am from England) but I guess it must be the jogging sequence in Movie #4 "Lum The Forever" which takes is the opening title sequence. The music fits perfectly.

I agree but I like the end scene in movie four the best where Atarus running with all the bombs, bullits and machine gun fire going off around him while birds are around lum. It symbolizes their opposite natures really well and the music was going pretty good with it too!

I also like the part in the TV series where Kintaro goes nuts and chases Ten around with his ax. And then he jumps up on the cash resjister and goes "This is life! Give me your money!"

I don't remember the title of the episode, but it's the scene where Ataru does his 'graffiti' of the Mendou Octopus and writes next to it "Ahh, it's dark and cramped and I'm scared". I about died laughing.

'Nuff said, it's these fight scenes between Ataru and Lum that always crack me up.. even though I haven't seen the actual movie this came from yet (as I said, I've only seen the first 16 episodes)..
God I love that ribbon episode, when Ataru accidentally sends the ribbon flying off at the worst of moments and Lum discovers the reason her powers were gone.. too funny!

I didn't quite like Movie #6 as much as the other movies. The story was okay but I thought that it was badly animated (or rather the style of the cells was incorrect) (Just look at Lum and Ataru from Movie #6 and then compare them to the earlier movies / TV Series).

1) When Lum was invited to Ataru's school trip by Perm, Chibi and Megane. And Ataru, Shinobu, Lum and Mendo went inside the cave. There were two pathways and Ataru made a deal with Mendo to switch the flashlight off and Ataru will grab onto Shinobu while Mendo will grab onto Lum. Mendo switched off the flashlight and the two guy ran into separate directions and when the light was turned on Lum was so happy that Ataru was hugging her, Mendo follows them with Shinobu on his back screaming "I'm scared........tee-hee-hee". Again the flash light was turned off and the guys scramble off again. When the flashlight was turned on Ataru was clutching onto Mendo's butt :lol:
2) Episode 6: Drop Dead Lady-Killer. After Rei, Lum and Ataru created havoc in town (Rei chasing Lum, Ataru and friends chasing Rei) Ten gave out flyers if it was a victim of the havoc he'd say "Here's the address of Ataru Moroboshi he will pay for the damages", if it wasa girl Rei proposed to (with the only japanese word he knows "Please cook for me" lol) he'd say "he will goto this house go visit him there"; and if it was the boyfriends of the girls rei proposed to he'd say "Go chase and beat the guy in this address"
3) Episode 62: After Ran created Ataru clones she tries to escape from them by saying "Look a babe" so the Ataru clones look for babes but on the opposite side of the street were just a bunch of old ladies.

For me it was the cene of the episode that made me love urusei yatsura:
After you were gone: the cene that Ataru is walking back home with all the lights and kokoroboisona playing at the back and Ataru recalling Lum.

Well, I loved a lot of episodes and movie scenes, it may be hard to select only one of them, but when I first saw the final of "Boy meets girl" movie I was unable to stop a couple of tears... it's the best thing I ever saw!!! :o

Without a doubt, the final scene from "Happy Birthday, My Darling" is my favorite scene in the entire series. Establishing shots like the one of Ataru running towards Lum in that scene are what make this series so great. I still can't believe that this episode wasn't among the top 10 UY episodes mentioned in Episode 194. I think it deserved some credit. It was so touching. :)

I love so many episodes and movie scenes but my favourite is episode 10 because in the end of the episode Ataru grab Lum and ask her to go with him for a walk and then he grabs Lum's hand.

Classic episode. Episode 10 used to be my favorite episode until I saw "Happy Birthday, My Darling!", but I still love it. :)

That episode ("Happy Birthday, My Darling!") also contains the best grin Ataru has ever made over the course of the series. :D)

Another great episode was the one where the Tomobiki High School faculty launched a full scale war on the students as punishment for getting their food from fast food restaurants. One of the funniest parts was when Chibi shouted "Kiss my ass!" to a nearby teacher. The Mach 5 (Speed Racer's car) zooms by in one scene. Grandpa Otonashi and Ikuko Otonashi (both from Maison Ikkoku) make a brief appearance.

My favorite scene was more like what Ataru said when he was chasing after Lum in the game of tag, when in the fifth movie he called Lum a fool and said why should he say he loves her under the circumstances, and how it may not even sound true. I found that to be very sweet. :)

Prefering a more comical route my wife and I both like the scene where Lum is bodybuilding for an upcoming fight with the bully from Butsumetsu High school.
She actually tries to bench press 600 kilos! :mrgreen:

My favorite scene has to be the one in episode 107 - Dimensional Switch, Where's Darling? where Lum reluctantly leaves Ataru when he obviously loves and cares for her. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but it's the reason why she leaves that makes the moment so touching.
