Title: Say, why Mendou is enrolled at Tomobiki anyways?

Given his family's enormous wealth and prestige, I think it's funny he goes to some average High School... with the leagues of Ataru Moroboshi.
And yeah, the *real* reason he's there is because it serves the comedy better. But I'm curious if there's a reason the provided for him not going to like, a Japanese equivalent of an Ivy-league school.
I like to think that at one point he was at one, but acted like such a buffoon that Tomobiki High is the best he can do now.

If there is an offhand comment about this, feel free to let me know.
