Title: Ending spring 2012 and summer 2012 anime preview
Post by: janus on July 05, 2012, 10:29:16 AM
I know that the forum has been slow but I can almost literary hear pin drop with the lack of posts. Because of this many people have come and gone and for some reason I keep coming back from time to time.  I've been creating this topic ever since June 2010 now. Since I've gone this far there is no reason to stop now, right?

Well lets get to business
here is the poster
(I just saw my first  post of this and I've noticed that I'd been loosely following my own format :P)

as always you can find more information here

before I used to watch anime as it were an all-you-can-eat buffet I would have my main dish with a several side dishes I got along the way and some dessert to have a full meal. This past couple of seasons I'm just going straight for the dessert. this is what I watched this season:

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san (http://myanimelist.net/anime/11785/Haiyore!_Nyaruko-san)
in a nutshell: an alien that comes to protect boy from evil alien terrorist, alien is in love with the human boy or something like that along the lines.
when I first saw this was in one of several animated flash shorts and its was called Haiyoru! Nyaruani back in 2010. This anime became more popular than I expected but I don't belived is a must watch.

the second anime I watched this season was Eden of this east on Netflix (if I'm paying 8 bucks a months might as well use it, right?). I've always wanted to rewatch this anime because it was very intersting but unfortunately I had to watch the english dub. Not that the voice acting was terrible but it felt that some things were lost in the translation, like painting a sports car with house paint. The worst change they did in the localization was that they replaced the op song from Oasis "falling down" because it would be very expensive to pay royalties everytime the the song was featured in the episode. It was not same experience I felt back in 2009. But it was great overall

For this new season I plan to watch Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai (http://myanimelist.net/anime/12549/Dakara_Boku_wa_H_ga_Dekinai.)
If it weren't for the manga I wouldn't of been interested in this one. In a nutshell imagine you fueling the power of a cute goddess by being perverted. that would mean she would have an infinite supply of power to suck out of you. sounds interesting to me but I would consider this a dessert.

well this is what I have for right now, I'm still waiting for J.C. Staff to make another season of Index but it seems they are busy with other projects.  Shaft seems to be MIA but I see some some projects due for the fall.

Alright next one up.

Gave TariTari a try. Meh. It's not bad, but I don't think I'll follow that one.

I love Hyouka. Typical KyotoAnimation goodness: super-low-key, slow to start off but has built upon a solid foundation. Absolutely beautiful character designs. Hyouka is slated for 22 episodes so it's crossing over into Summer season.

Good to see you, Janus. All forums have life cycles, it seems. I joined during a very active phase and watched it wane. Seems just lately it's starting to pick up a bit. Ah well.

Hmm... from spring season... I saw nothing... so can't comment on that.

For the Summer season the only thing that I may watch is Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai just by the simple fact that I'm reading the manga. But if I start to see any discrepancies in the story... I'll drop it and just stick to the manga.

spring season for me, was acchi kocchi, haiyore nyarko ( this one had a few moments where I got weirded out... because of the 'boldness'of thd characters), and nazo no kanojo( was left with a weird thought in my head after watching this...)

I want to see the Rurouni Kenshin and the Berserk OVAs so badly.... But meh, nothing special. I didn't see the upcoming Jojo's Bizarre Adventures TV series in that poster... I guess it's too underground, and nobody knows that awesome anime series  8)
