Recently I have been having trouble finding new anime to watch, where can I find out about good anime that is around?

I usually just watch the recent animes that come out... but eventualy a go around cata, Kroptik, UruseiNeo and sometimes janus list to see if theres anything to see to pass time... Darker than Black was one of those... ;D

I rarely update my MAL exept on the things that catch my interest. many times I don't feel like completing anime even though its good and time passes and I eventually forget so I drop them.

since there is no manga recommendations I will post this here
while I was looking at the site tv konI found a trailer of a very good manga that is now getting an anime adaptation.
its called Mirai nikki or Future Diary (giving me a hard time finding the licensed manga)
if you like Death Note this is sort of the same thing with twisted plots but more action oriented

I go to every of my friends' Anime list once. Add every series that has either 9 or 10. Ahah, this is my way of making sure that I'm not wasting my time. xD

Hmm... Then you're missing some good animes... because I sometimes act as the Russian judge in a olimpic event... Even if every other judge gave a 9 or 10 I'll give it an 8... XD
Not because I didn't like it... it's mostly because I'm waiting for a 2nd season... XD

I love future diary...Ive been reading the manga since it was released. I cant wait for the dvd release with the next volume. I heard the dvd with the ova was put off til december but i dont care as long as we may be able to buy it. :]
I love Mirai Nikki as well. Great manga worth reading. :hehe

Most of my TOP ANIME EVER!!!! (lol) is rated an 8 on my Anime list because of plot holes and/or fillers/some boring episodes. Samurai Champloo and Xam'd: Lost Memories are examples. LoL

you are a really tough in rating anime. The lowest I've given was a 2 and only because the anime was a sequel that turned to a completely different direction, comepletly lacking the elements I liked about the first. actually I have a second worst from the same series, but I forgot to include it in my list
@Superchick24 mirai nikki and Future Diary are the same series, the second name is the translation of the first.

I'm tough in rating but I'm not tough when I recommend Anime to people.
Call me a nerd but when I watch Anime, I always rate each episode from 1 to 10. Then I see what the average classification is. That's the rating I give the Anime in question. When I rate an Anime, story, art, episode fun (basically if the episode was amusing), music and characters. All together make a rating of an episode.
As you may already know, it's REALLY hard to have results higher than 8. In fact, even getting an 8 at the end is really difficult. One Piece (yeah... +400 episodes on a math count I know LoL) began on an 9 to me. On episode 10 it was close to 8,5. However, fillers and slow pace story hurt its rating quite a bit so it's like 7,3 or something.
But like I said: Hajime no Ippo on my list is an 8 but OMG!!!! what a masterpiece!!!! So, when ratings are 8 is like saying "awesome BUT beware for fillers/boring stuff, too".

@janus: Sorry i meant to say i love Mirai Nikki as well as Pandora Hearts...I realize Mirai Nikki and furutre diary are the same...lol...but have you heard of Pandora Hearts?? Its a great manga and ive seen the anime. Very Interesting. Badically its very action packed and uses ideas from The story Alice in Wonderland.

I usually wait for one of those visual guides that contain little reviews on the newest anime series
Sometimes I wait for an anime to end as way for me to fully enjoy it
