Title: VOCALOID LIVE!
Post by: veehive on March 14, 2010, 08:03:07 AM
See these while you can (meaning RIGHT NOW!!!), they're being taken down almost as fast as they get put up.

From a recent event where they reverse-projected excellent 3D CGI images of the Vocaloids onto a transparent screen and had them perform songs, accompanied by a live band.

I cannot find words to adequately describe my reaction. There are no superlatives great enough. For me, THIS IS THE REVOLUTION!

Magnet
(update: Sunday 11pm Eastern Daylight Time -- SEGA pulled this video. No use trying it now.)

But... how can they do that? Did they put a person inside a costume and the face is a robotic mask? Oo

Or is it a video?

Or is it a 3D video they're showing and the taping camera has a 3D lens?

Or... I ran out of ideas. xD

This isn't really new technology, anyone who watched the EMAs back in 2005 should remember this:
#Invalid YouTube Link#

Although it does seem a lot better done with vocaloid. And lets not neglect the "hotter" and "cuter" improvements too. xD

Offtopic: By the way, mind if I "shamelessly" copy your post to post in another anime forum? :P

Offtopic: If it's my post you're looking to copy&re-post, go ahead. Heck, I'd be flattered if you thought that highly of it.

Offtopic: watch now -- he wasn't talking about MY post -- so humiliating ....

Update -- Sunday night, 11pm EDST -- SEGA pulled the video for "Magnet". It's gone. "Double Lariat" is still up, but I don't know for how long. Damn it. Enjoy it while you can.

Why is SEGA so butthurt over this??? Are they trying to keep the concert a secret from us or something? XD

Heheh, I used to listen to Gorrilaz back then.

I know, it's damned hard for us to take when this is our ONLY source for it. But, I understand their viewpoint -- they spent a lot of money to make this concert happen (3D CGI at THIS quality?!! WOW!) and they want to protect their right -- copyright -- to it so they can have the income to make more like it in the future (or pay back the debt they incurred from producing this one).

For my part, I can only hope and pray that thye make the show available on hard disc (DVD/Blu-Ray) for purchase through common sources.

As of Right Now (9:30 am EDST, Monday the 15th), DoubleLariat is still up.

Hmm... unfortunatly I wasn't able to see the 1st video... but the 2nd from Double Lariat... sent chils down my spine... but not in a good way... more like in a way when you go down a street... and you see a mime standing in your path... ;D

That was weird... ;D

LMAO I downloaded it before it got taken down XD

Don't worry though, someone else posted the same song as "Part 2" of the concert (they posted 4 parts so far I believe, better go check them out under "Vocaloid Live Concert")

Edit:  Go to this guy's channel for the concert parts (so far he has the first 5 uploaded, I expect he will upload more) http://www.youtube.com/user/CLaRaShooWW

Thank You, UruseiNeo! _/-\o_ _/-\o_ _/-\o_ _/-\o_ _/-\o_

If you're up to it, there's a website listed in the credits at the beginning of part4 where one can vote to show support for a Blu-Ray release of the show. It's http://meister.blu-raydisc.com/jp/vote/wantBD/music.php.

an aside: with the amazing success of this projection method -- the life-like rendering of animated characters on a live stage -- can you imagine what it would be like to have Ataru & Lum carefully rendered in 3D this way?

:D I already downloaded all the parts (though the quality isn't as good anymore but still) and I even got a video that guy didnt upload yet. It was a duet between the twins (Butterfly on your right shoulder?)

More parts added by CLaRaShooWW. Part 7 features "Dear Cocoa Girls" (Miku in a bikini) and "StargazeR".

Good band. Good bassist. Makes me itchy for a 5-string like he's using.

He's not uploading those songs in order is he? Aside from the first two songs in the opening, are there any other songs at the concert that did not feature projected Vocaloids?

I'm downloading part 7 right now XD

the quality kinda decreased though... is there a way to fix that?

I'd say not.

Aside from the first two songs in the opening, are there any other songs at the concert that did not feature projected Vocaloids?

Not sure, but there was something about "danceroids" and I saw a VERY short clip with a live dance troupe (troup? troop?) doing their thing in the aisles.

I've found so many new good songs through this. Problem (for me) is, I now prefer these "live" performances over "studio" recordings of the same songs! Come On, Blu-Ray Release!

And, yes, I like Luka now. Almost as much as Miku (and more than the twins) at this point.

You pretty much described my experience XD

Ya, I saw Luka first time from this and I'm thinking "Who is that? Eh, w/e" then later in part 3 I'm like "She's awesome! I like her dance moves"

I can dare to say that I like Luka probably because of her adult "tsundere" style... compared to Miku's Loli-moe style...

Janus I didn't miss any reference... because I didn't even know that that was one... XD
Title: Re: VOCALOID LIVE!
Post by: UruseiNeo on March 20, 2010, 06:12:32 AM
I read that Luka is the first BILINGUAL Vocaloid for Japanese and English (and this is reflected in her song "Just be Friends")

And how is Miku a loli? She's looks teenage. Rin would be Loli
Title: Re: VOCALOID LIVE!
Post by: FallinG_StaR on March 20, 2010, 09:37:00 AM
For me flat chest = Loli ;D

Obviously she's not 100% loli but the word to describe her eludes me...  :/

If anyone is interested in downloa... I mean listen to the musics from Project Diva game and what not...

I have to agree with Veehive... Live concert music version is way better than the studio ones... Hoping we get the Blu-ray disc... XD

This version the subs are more accurate... but not as funny video... ;D

What about girls/women with A-cups in real life? Would you consider them kids or everyone who's attracted to them would be pedophiles from your perspective? (I'm not posting in a agressive way to you).

Real life... I don't care about the size or w/e...

I still have in my head a saying of a great man... that goes like this:

"A womens breast doesn't need to be big... If they can fit in your hand (each) it's more than enough..."

And I agree... I just pity the guys with small hands... XD

That comment was more towards the anime/manga depiction of girls/women...
For someone that seen lots of anime... I know the jokes on the flat chested girls... that even if they are 20 years old... they will be considered the young sister if paired with her big breasted younger sister... lets say 16...

Kind of like Tsukamoto Tenma and Tsukamoto Yakumo. They're sisters. Tenma is older but shorter, childish and has small breasts. Not flat but still small. Yakumo is younger but she's taller, responsible and has a C cup.

They get along pretty well and Yakumo (younger sister) treats Tenma has if she was her younger sister, even though she's the older one. However, Yakumo refers to Tenma as onee-san (older sister).

But anyways, the chest size isn't the only thing that gives away the situation (who appears to be older) in this case.

Do you have a radar for that kind of thing??? If so I need to get one of those...
Btw... I should get a gaydar... you never know when it could come in handy... to avoid awkward situations... XD

Btw... again... another topic gone rogue... ;D We just can't help ourselfs...  ;D

Just staring. xD

Like... it's easy to tell which girl has A, B, C, D, E, F cup. You want to know how? Try staring and comparing. It can get a bit tricky sometimes but IN THE END size doesn't matter.

I'm going to give you some Lum examples. It's easier to tell because she wears a lot her tiger-stripped bikini and it's someone we're familiar with. xD

In episode one, it seems like HER right breast is a B and HER left breast is a A. But it may be because of the angle.

In this one, Lum has double Bs and Shinobu seems to have A cup but it's hard to tell.

Also, Tsukamoto Tenma and Tsukamoto Yakumo are from School Rumble.

Ummm .. just read on Sankaku Complex: a recording of the concert is being released on BluRay, DVD, and CD on September 1st. Pre-orders are already in progress. It's already #3 in DVD sales at Amazon.Japan.

The 15-second TV commercial shows just how much better this will be compared to the NicoNicoDouga-streamed video we've been watching copies of on YouTube. "World Is Mine" 3rd song and 1st apperance of Miku. Been mirrored (in the vague hope that SEGA won't pull it because of that --- historically, they will anyway [ask Clarashooww]). In full HD 1080p if your computer can handle that.

Well, it's been awhile, but I thought I'd re-awaken this thread with the latest VocaConcert news.

They'er going to do the concert again, in LosAngeles as part of AnimeExpo over the July 4th weekend.

It's already sold out. Over 7,000 seats in the Nokia Theater where the show will take place. The original band is being brought in from Japan to perform. SEGA and CryptonFutureMedia are promising Special Surprises with the show.

Wish I could go.
